Anyone know how i can stop gritting my teeth at night? it's making them loose and bad feeling.?

Go to your dentist and get fitted for a mouth guard. I have one that I put on my top row of teeth at night while I'm sleeping. It has prevented me from wearing down my teeth from grinding.

Be careful though and ask a lot of questions because there are all kinds of mouth guards out there and most of them are crap. My dentist did a bait and switch on me. I asked for a new one since mine is getting worn out and she gave me something totally different that was huge and rigid. I couldn't sleep with it in my mouth, so I'm out the money and am still using my old one.

Anyone know how i can stop gritting my teeth at night? it's making them loose and bad feeling.?
SEE A DENTIST THERE IS SOMETHING THEY CAN HAVE MADE TO STOP THAT .
Reply:go to dunhams or a sporting good store.buy a mouth guard .boil it then mold it to your mouth.it will prevent further damage you would put upon your teeth.also ask your dentist if you have tmj
Reply:Your dentist can fit you with a device called a "night guard" - this is a rubber mold of your upper teeth that you wear at night that will keep your jaw in alignment and protect your teeth from grinding against each other at night. The custom-fitted ones are rather expensive, but they are comfortable. I have also seen them for sale in pharmacies - not custom-made, but they look very much like the custom made ones.

I have worn a night guard for years, and mine has been very effective!
Reply:If you are grinding your teeth at night, I would follow your dentist's recommendation that you wear a mouth guard at night. It is moulded to suit your mouth, and can prevent grinding and excessive wear on your teeth. Other than that, get rid of the stresses in your life. Good Luck!
Reply:Grinding teeth at night is usually from too much stress. I have the same problem. The dentist made a "splint" (a type of guard) for my bottom teeth to protect them from the grinding. My jaw was starting to hurt from the grinding, too. The splint worked really well for me. Good luck!
Reply:go to the dentist. they have a guard you can wear to save your teeth . you can also wear off your tooth enamel if you dont get the guard to fix it. you can also get receding gums. please see your dentist asap
Reply:Go to the dentist and get a mouth piece. They ones you buy in the stores are very hard to fit to your mouth, gag able if you know what I mean? He will make it fit properly. Check with your insurance company, mine was not covered by it. Good luck
Reply:Night-guards are good, mine cost me about $300.00 with insurance. Also consider if you grind your teeth at other times, for instance, when you pet an animal.

Also loose and bad feeling teeth may be the onset of Periodontal disease. Ask your dentist, cuz it's some bad sheeit.
Reply:You should have an NTI appliance made. They are a relitivily new type of night guard and are proven in some cases much better. The FDA approved them for treating migraines. Look up www.nti-tss.com and see what I am talking about.
Reply:you can get mouth Gard's from the dentist
