Kittens teeth?

My kitten is 6 months old and has been losing his teeth, he also has loose teeth bothsides further back in his mouth and the gums look sore. he has been to the vet and he said they should come out soon. But i was worried as he is not eating as much as normal, would this really affect his eating? when he does eat he seems to go for the dry food, which i thought it would hurt more?

Kittens teeth?
It's like when babies teethe on hard things, it seems to be instinctive and although you would think that hard kibble would make his mouth hurt, he'd be teetheing on something else just to loosen up the teeth and help the new teeth break the gumline. Puppies do it too--chew on things when they are losing their baby teeth and getting in their adult teeth. And they do kind of cut back on their eating, not sure why but it seems to happen in most mammalian babies, they just don't eat as much when teething (and sometimes their body temp will be slightly higher than usual).
Reply:that is perfectly normal. the dry food breaks into small pieces that he can move around in his mouth to avoid the sore spots whereas he has less control over the wet food.
Reply:You shouldn't of gave him/her dry food so soon! You have to wait for a while! You give him/her milk then wet food then dry food! Give him wet food from now on it will help.
Reply:You can soften the food by putting water in it.
