Do you want to lose or loose?

I can't help myself. I have to ask this. I love reading weight loss sites and messages boards. Are any of you shocked that so many people who want to "lose" weight cannot spell the word? They want to "loose" weight. It will never happen, although some of us may have loose skin hanging on our bodies after losing weight.

"Loose" means not securely fastened, such as a loose tooth. Or it can mean having freedom from confinement as in "a lion loose in the streets." Loose can also indicate lacking moral restraint as in "unchaste." On the other hand you can lose weight, lose your money, lose your mind (kidding), lose the love of your life.

The "s" sound in lose sounds like "z." The "s" sound in loose, is a "s" sound.

That's the problem when we have to depend on spelling checks. Both are correct words so will not show up incorrectly.

Yeah, thanks for sharing.
Reply:whats ur question?
Reply:Loose is wrong, like bad speeling.
Reply:i want to lose wieght but not have loose skin, seems as though i am screwed.
Reply:I'm with ya.
Reply:It's hopeless to try to correct them. They are totally clueless. It is amazing how poor the spelling and grammar are on these boards, especially since there is a spell check available.
Reply:There's A LOTTTT of peeps who cannot spell. I saw a search term the other day for 'loose waight'

hmmmmmmm......
Reply:My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.

On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.

The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!

Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.

Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.

Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!
