14 and dont have all of my teeth.?

im 14 years old and i still have eight baby teeth left.


also


only have 24 teeth


while all of my friends have 28 teeth


and have lost all of their baby teeth.


is it normal for some people to loose teeth this late


and to not have all of their teeth?

No, to be honest, this is not "normal." It may not be terribly unusual, but a typical 14 year old (esp female) will have all her permanant teeth.





there are three possible explanations for this:





1 - You are just really slow. Hey, I've read that medically some girls don't get their period 'til they're 17. This seems CRAZY (based on the women I know!) but it is a fact. Perhaps you are just (dentally!) a late bloomer!





2 - You don't have those teeth. Some people, for weird reasons related to your pre-birth development and genetics and such just never get the permanent teeth. usually it's just a couple, but 8 wouldn't be impossible....





3 - your permanent teeth are impacted or "trapped" because of their angulation in your mouth. if this is the case, you might need extractions and special braces to correct.





I suspect it's #1 option; it's not unusual to have 2 -4 teeth that dont' have permanent successors, but i've never heard of eight! What you need to do is visit a dentist and they'll take xrays (or maybe just one big xray!) and that will show if there are teeth down there, what angle they're at and what, if anything, should be done to correct. It may just be waiting a while more!

Reply:Quite,I am 13 and I lost all my baby teeth but I also got 4 pulled,but every body has a different time,my friend is 12 and she has 10 left still,everyone is different,we cant all be the same,right?We'd be robots,I have 25 teeth,but that is also because I am growing my wisdom teeth,youre friends might've already got theirs,O and 42% of people have 24 teeth and 38% have 28 and 20% have 25 teeth(people who are growing their wisdome teeth,alot of people have extra teeth too.Oh and IF you grow wisdom teeth(some people don't) you have to get'em pulled.
