The above link gives you a graphic that shows about what age each baby and adult tooth "erupts" or comes in. For an adult tooth to come in the baby tooth will have to come out.

5-6 years of age is average for the first teeth to fall out.

(My condolances to the toothfairy, as he/she is about to be broke)
Reply:Yes, amazingly they can start losing their teeth around 5. My son is 5 an1/2 and his bottom middle tooth is lose right now. Just try to prepare them, and let them know a replacement is on it's way. Report It

Reply:My daughter didn't lose her 1st tooth until she was 7
Reply:6
Reply:No, children start to lose their baby teeth at that age, it's perfectly normal for children 5 and older to start losing their baby teeth.
Reply:its acually a perfect age
Reply:between 5 and 6
Reply:This is normal. Everyone is different and may lose their baby teeth at different times. I know a 26 year old who still has some of his baby teeth. I'm not joking either. Don't worry about it. Your son's age is completely normal. They are just baby teeth. Its the teeth after that that are important. Just make sure he takes care of them but 5 years old is normal.
Reply:I don't think that is too soon. My daughter who is now 10 started loosing her baby teeth around that age. I'd have to say that it is pretty common.
Reply:Children start losing their primary teeth at average of 6 years of age. Usually, the central incisors (front, middle teeth) are first teeth to be shed. To answer your question, 5.5 years is not too early to lose primary teeth. Children will continue to lose their primary teeth until around age 12.
Reply:my children all started losing their baby teeth between ages 6 -7.
Reply:no way... thats the pefect time. kids are all different and they lose their teeth at different times. I started losing my teeth when i was little at about that time... i think its good to lose your baby teeth as early as possible, because u can go through that really awkward stage of having no front teeth when u really could care less. ;)
Reply:She should start getting loose teeth anyday. Its anywhere from 5 -7.
Reply:our dentist says that a child is usually 7 when they lose there teeth
