What age do most kids loose their first tooth?

My son is 5 days away from his 5th birthday, and lost his first tooth tonight while eating a sandwhich. Is this normal for his age or is it too early??? He cut teeth early, and got all his teeth early. Does this effect him loosing his teeth now?

Absolutely within normal range. Most children who get their teeth early end up losing it earlier.
Reply:It's about right. 5 or 6, usually.
Reply:My two sons both lost teeth before they were 5 years old. We questioned the dentist -- he said it was normal because they got teeth early. (Both had teeth coming in at 4 months old.) I guess baby teeth last a certain length of time and then they get out of the way.
Reply:My daughter whom is 6, just lost her 1st tooth and is now ready to lose a 2nd. I would say this is perfectly normal.
Reply:the sooner he had his teeth as a baby the sooner he will start loosing them. So your son is right on time than.
