How to pull a tooth that is not loose?

I have a tooth that's not loose. But in order to get braces, that I really need, i need to loose that tooth. I don't really feel like going to the dentist cus they have to numb with injections....BLAH! um.. so please no doorknob crap. that never works. PLEASE HELP!

How to pull a tooth that is not loose?
Look;; I was the same way 2 years ago. So I know what you're going through. I was scared because I had never had any real dental work done;; so never been numb before. So we put off getting the brace [[I needed 4 teeth pulled!]]. And 3 weeks ago I got the first 2 teeth pulled and 3 days ago I go the other 2 pulled. It wasnt that bad. Please go to the dentist or wait until you can live with the fact that you will need to be numbed to have the teeth pulled. I was so nervous when I first went in that I almost puked afterwards. But believe me it really isnt terrible. You just feel a tiny bit of pressure at first;; then 30 seconds later the tooth is out! You will be numb for a few hours;; but at the end of the orthodontic treatment I bet we will be happy! But please;; if the tooth is an adult tooth please go to the dentist. You could damage your mouth so much by trying something yourself. If you dont get the numbing then you will feel everything and that probably wont be that comfortable. Id rather be numb for 3 hours than be in excruciating pain for weeks! Please just listen to me;; go to the dentist, I know you dont wanna hear that but you need to.

Step by step;; the is what happened for me.

1.) Dentist puts numbing gel on gum area where injections will be made (so you wont feel the injections;; make sure you ask your dentist beforehand if he/she can do this.) You wait about 5 minutes.

2.) Injections are made but you dont feel them since your gums are already numb.

3.) You wait 15-20 minutes to get fully numb.

4.) The dentist pushes on the tooth with a special instrument and all you feel is some pressure;; since the dentist is pushing hard.

5.) Dentist takes this other instrument and rocks tooth back and forth;; then pulles at the last second a tiny bit while still rocking it;; and the tooth is out!

The procedure takes about 30 minutes in all.

Please do not do anything on your own though. You could end up doing a lot more damage! If your dentist knows what he/she is doing; then you will have no worries and will barely feel anything!

Lots of luck %26amp; Best Wishes♥
Reply:no easy way around this one

SEE YOUR DENTIST - you could cause much more damage to do it on your own
Reply:go to the dentist.
Reply:It's a really bad idea to try to do this yourself. I know it's ooky, but have the dentist or the oral surgeon do it. They can give you laughing gas so the novocaine injection won't bother you. I've had approximately one dozen teeth pulled, so I'm speaking from experience.
Reply:pliers.
Reply:Go to a dentist that uses gas and you will be fine.
Reply:Just keep wiggling it. Thats what I did.
Reply:trip to the dentist. but use laughing gas. IT'S SOOO COOL!!!
Reply:Please do not pull that tooth by yourself!

Your tooth is surrounded by bone. You may not be able to remove the whole tooth and then you are looking at more pain. You will be left with only the root of your tooth and an exposed nerve. Which means that anything hot, cold, sweet or sour may send you through the roof.

If you do successfully pull the tooth, you may get an infection...or worse...dry socket! Dry socket is extremely painful. It occurs when the extraction site looses its clot and therefore exposes the bone.

I suspect this tooth is a permanent premolar. Pulling permanent teeth is much more complicated than pulling a baby tooth or deciduous tooth. The roots on baby teeth start to resorb which makes them easier to extract. A permanent tooth is held tight to the bone (by ligaments and such...). The extraction is more involved and can not be done by an unexperienced person.

If you are not afraid of pulling your own tooth and are not worried about the pain...ask the dentist not to numb you!

Most dentists these days are very gentle while giving injections. Some people say they don't even feel the needle. Before the injection is given you should be numbed up in the area with a topical anesthetic.

When you go to your dental appointment explain that you are affraid of having an injection. Dentist are understanding and will try to make you as comfortable as possible.

All in all....by preforming your own oral surgery...you are jeoparizing your health! Just let the dentist take care of you! That is what they do for a living.

You may also be jeopardizing your ortho treatment. The orothodontist may not want to put braces on someone who pulls out their own teeth. You could be a liability that he/she is not willing to chance.
Reply:SEE THE DENTIST AND TELL HIM YOU'RE SCARED TO SEE HIM.

THEY MIGHT PRESCRIBE AN ANXIETY- REDUCING MEDICATION TO TAKE BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT.

SINCE THIS IS MOST LIKELY A PERMANENT TOOTH, THIS TYPE YOU WON'T BE ABLE TO PULL YOURSELF.

YEARS AGO I HAD A PATIENT WHO WAS SCARED OF THE DENTIST AND TRIED TO TAKE SOME CHANNELOCK PLIERS AND PULL HIS OWN SORE TEETH.

THIS WAS A BIG MISTAKE FOR HIM BECAUSE WHEN HE CAME TO SEE ME I HAD TO SURGICALLY EXTRACT WHAT WAS LEFT OF HIS TEETH. HAVE A PROFESSIONAL EXTRACT YOUR TOOTH.
Reply:if you hate the dentist, then it sounds like orthodontic treatment (braces) won't be a very good option for you! you have to go to the dentist every month! other than that, all i can say is get the dentist to pull it. adult teeth aren't as easily pulled than primary ones... they are more deeply rooted and have more dense bone surrounding them. the only thing that will get that tooth out are dental instruments. it should only take the doc 10-20 to get it out, so go do it. otherwise you risk further injury meaning more time in the dental chair than you would have originally had if you'd done it the right way.
Reply:hunny, i love going to the dentist, just get use to it, i had to get a tooth pulled in order to get my braces too, and my orthodanntic did it, he was so gentle, i alway close my eyes during dental work, i didnt even know they did it! you have ot get use to the orthodontics, you have to go at least once a month if not more, just enjoy the braces experiance!
