Loosing teeth?

My wife is 28 and is having toothache. she is certain that its a baby tooth. Has anyone else had a baby tooth remain until they were almost 30?

Loosing teeth?
Yes it is normal for some people to have baby teeth throughout their lives.

If an adult tooth fails to erupt or develop then there is no reason for the baby tooth to shed. It remains in the mouth like any other tooth. Obviously these baby teeth aren't designed to last for very long and tend to be softer than normal adult teeth and so need to be looked after extra specially. It is wrong to say that baby teeth have only one root - they can have many.

If someone has a retained baby tooth and starts to suffer toothache, they tend to be very difficult to treat and more often than not eventually require extraction.
Reply:my sister's boyf is 28 in april and He has 4 baby teeth. apparently he was told that baby teeth only really come out coz they are pushed out and if your partner has no adult teeth behind that baby one then unless it is decaying there is no reason for it to come out. the only other thing is that baby teeth only have one root so are weaker and often drop out for that reason. my sis's boyf is lucky coz his baby teeth are large and look like small adult teeth. so yes, she could be right. anyway, toothache is toothache - baby teeth or not it still bloody hurts. I say pull the lot out!
Reply:I know someone of 31 who has one it looks a little funny compared to the others a bit smaller but if having toothache go to the dentist they may take it out or even put a crown on it if it is not bad
