Reply:Get floss, tie it to an arrow, and shoot the arrow from the bow. Works perfectly. Absolutely painless, I did a couple years ago by myself and to a friend. Its scary but you cant even notice.
Reply:Eat an apple! That's how I lost one of mine. I took a bite and it got stuck in the apple.
Reply:Eat caramels!
Reply:wigle it as much as u can till it falls out
Reply:Okay. Loose tooth or not definitely the only way to get it out is to go to the dentist and have him take it out. Teeth are not to be played with. I don't know if it is a molar, grinder, canine or incisor but sometimes trying to take it out yourself can cause severe infections and even an abscess. One more thing! Anything in the mouth like a wound, inflammation, etc. is naturally known to heal extremely fast because of the secretions of the salivary glands. But once the healing is not done, it becomes an extremely difficult affair. Like for instance cancer of the mouth. It spreads so fast that within days it spreads into the entire body and metastisis. So lets be wise. Better part of valor is always discretion. Go to your doctor. Best wishes.
Reply:try rinsen your mouth with MOUTH WASH it always works it prevents gum problem and would help your teath get loose with out harten you
Reply:visit your dentist and he will take care of the tooth.
Reply:Dont eat anything hard to get it out!! Its painful. Just take a tissue and then twist and turn it with the tissue (it actually stops all pain and reaction of a falling tooth) Then just pull it a little. Its quite easy and you have to do it because if you dont they have to take the braces off and re put them because youre missing a tooth. I do that to my teeth all the time.

I hope I could help you!
Reply:go to the dentist and have them take it out. They had to pull 2 of my adult teeth so i could get braces.
Reply:wiggle, twist, wiggle, twist just keep doin that until it comes out.Oh,3 days until my braces ill email u and tell u how it feels after i get em'and wats ur email?????

Loose tooth! First one?

My 5 year old girl is loosing her first tooth, what should be done, its very loose (lower down front tooth)

Loose tooth! First one?
Be very easy about it. Don't make is sound scary or anything. Say Wow, wiggle it for me and let me see how loose it is today! And then say Oh super it looks even looser now than last time. Then tell her that you will pull it if she really wants you to, but that if she will keep pushing it with her tongue, she can get it out herself. It is soooo much less traumatic when they can feel that they have control of the situation. But never make it sound scary at all. And let her know you are there to help her out if she wants, but that you have faith that she can do it. And then if she does get it out herself... make a BIG deal of it. I am SO proud of you! Etc.
Reply:let it come out naturally, dont pull it before it's time...

And its up to you whether you want to do the toothfairy thing--- however much children enjoy it
Reply:tie a string around it and yank it out
Reply:It'll come out.
Reply:Prepare to do your job, tooth fairy.
Reply:Just have her keep wiggling it. It'll fall out on it's own, when it is ready to come out. It can take awhile but it'll get there. If for some reason, you are concerned, take her to her dentist though just in case.
Reply:Wait til it falls out. Trust me, im speaking from experience. My dad pulled mine out and it was very trumatic for me.
Reply:It will come out eventually... especially if she plays with it with her tongue, lol.

Make sure she doesn't wiggle it with her hand, that's a bit unsanitary sometimes...
Reply:give her corn on the cob that always worked for me
Reply:Don't let her eat anything really hard because it will hurt when it comes out and then she will be scared of any other teeth being loose. Let her play on the play ground and do everything else normal. It's best to let it come out on it's own. DON'T Try to take it out yourself!!!
Reply:Pull it out, pull it out !! Make her cry !! Let it come out on it's own, she might not be to happy if you pull it out. lol =) Congrats!
Reply:Get a string...Put it on the door knob and slam the door!!!!!NO not really Let it fall opt on it,s own....Then be sure the tooth fairy rewards her well!@!!!!
Reply:Leave it alone unless you can lay it flat. If it's so loose you can lay it flat, use a bit of cloth to get a grip on it and gently tug. If she yipes, stop tugging and wait a day or so.

They'll come out on their own without your help, so if you don't want to tug, don't.
Reply:what i did is move the tooth the opposite direction it fall out quick and gone before they know it and leave her a nice tip under the pillow
Reply:It is best to let the tooth fall out on its own. Yanking or knocking it out will cause excess bleeding and can further expose the gums to infection. However, after many days, if it is still there, have your daughter bite into an apple. This will remove the tooth more naturally than pulling.
Reply:just leave it alone im only 14 so i can still remember quite well on what its like to have a loose tooth. it will fall out on its on accord or if your really impatient just yank it out!!! but it will be painful!!!!
Reply:yes let it come out naturally, but also tell her it is ok to wiggle it. The wiggling will help it come out faster.
Reply:oh this is very cute :). If it's annoying her too much, then pull it out with a string. Otherwise it should fall on its own... I didnt know u have a 5 year old!!
Reply:it will come out, give her an apple even if it is sliced it will help it come out.
Reply:my son has lost 2 so far and we just leave them to come out on there own. normal when he is eating lol xxx
Reply:my 7 year old just lost a 4th.... it was really loose, and she just kept wiggling it with her tongue. it came out by itself somehow when she stuck a juicebox straw in her mouth. let it come out on it's own, and let her wiggle it to her heart's content.

Loose tooth @ age of 4?

my son is 4 years old, he ran into a wall (as funny as it sounds) and now his front tooth is loose. he keeps wiggling it because he thinks if he looses a tooth that makes him an even bigger boy. should i start with his pediatrician and go from there or should i go straight to the dentist? he's never been to the dentist before.

Loose tooth @ age of 4?
Since the tooth is loose because of trauma, rather than naturally being lost as the permanent teeth come in, it would be wise to take him to the dentist for a quick evaluation. While he's more than likely going to be fine, hitting his tooth may have damaged the permanent tooth bud underneath, or he may need to have the loose tooth extracted to protect the permanent one.

Besides, 4 is a great time to have some fluoride and a cleaning!

Good luck to you!
Reply:It is normal to lose a tooth at this age! My daughter lost her first tooth when she was in 4K. She didn't run into a wall to do it though:).If it bothers him take him to a dentist. Your pediatrician should be able to recommend a good one. If not it might have just sped up the process of the loosening of the tooth and he should be fine!
Reply:make sure you have dental insuracnce.... if not go anyway for a consultation visit...... my sons lower front tooth got loosoe onits own at age 5, i think the upper front tooth don't comeout till much later.. so if it the upper one, bring him to the dentist immedialtey.. if it's the lower one, it shouldent be such a big deal, but go either way
Reply:You can go to the dentist certainly...but if the tooth is wiggling there's nothing to do with it unless you want to pull it. Some teeth will firm back up if you leave them alone...so next time don't encourage the wiggling for a few days to see what happens.

As far as not going to the dentist...he should go regardless. As soon as children start getting teeth they should be seen by a dentist. To check for caveties, gum problems, bite issues....I would brush my oldest's teeth 3 times a day and gave him florinated water...and his first appt he had 4 caveties (acid reflux weaked his enamel). So it's time to make an appt. And they have Pediatric dentists so don't worry about all that.

Good luck.
Reply:I would take him to a pediatric dentist. If the tooth falls out, and the permanant one is not even close to coming in, the teeth surrounding the empty space left by the tooth that fell out of, may move, and cause crowding when the new tooth is ready to come in. They can put in a spacer that will keep the other teeth from invading the space until the permanant tooth is ready to come in.

Loose tooth?

is it bad to have a permenent tooth that is a little loose? its just a little like if i try to move it. i had braces so i was wondering if its normal to have a tooth be a tiny bit loose every now and then.

Loose tooth?
LOOSE?? LOOSE?? EAT MORE BANANANS, THEY ARE BINDING.
Reply:yes it is, as the braces pull the tooth in it will wiggle a little bit.
Reply:yeah, when you have braces they become slightly loose not too loose.
Reply:Hi, I'm a dentist.

The short answer: it depends.

Now for the long answer. Which tooth is this? How much is a little bit loose? All teeth are mobile at the sub-millimeter level. If teeth are moveable by more than a millimeter, it can be a sign of periodontal disease, and it can also be from recent trauma to the tooth. Orthodontic treatment can actually make teeth more loose than they normally are, so if you are still in braces, the teeth are likely going to be slightly mobile.

I really would need more information to answer this question properly.

I suggest you visit your dentist to have your tooth evaluated.

Good luck.

Very loose tooth at age four????

Hi guys,

My son is four and will be five in march. The other day I noticed his front left tooth looked like it had shifted forward a lil bit. (like he bit into something and it was pushed forward?) Today my aunt was watching him for a few hours, and when I got home she told me she had given him an apple. She said when he bit into it, his tooth became very loose! Its really wiggly, and I am very worried.. Can anyone tell me, if a tooth was accidentally forced out, if the permanant tooth will take a while to grown in? It is saturday nite, and I am so anxious I cannot wait until Monday to know!!! Is there anything I can do to prevent the tooth loss? Help Please!!!

Very loose tooth at age four????
it won't take that long but that happened to my lil sister it will come back eventually i promise
Reply:the new tooth may force its way through, but, face it. You can't fight mother nature. I'd bet the new tooth will come in slowly. Tell him not to wiggle with the tooth but let ti be in control.
Reply:I wouldn't worry too much. My brother lost his front teeth at around four. I didn't lose mine until 7 or 8. Kids bodies change at different times. The apple would not have loosened it unless it is ready to be coming out. I have known kids who have had baby teeth knocked out by accident and the adult teeth have come through fine although there has been a bit of a wait. If the tooth is not ready to come out it will tighten up again. Baby teeth are not meant to be permanent and their roots are not big or solid. Don't worry about it unless your son is in a lot of pain and if that is the case take him to the doctor.
Reply:its loose for a reason. The tooth is ready to fall out, the new tooth will follow soon after. Kids lose their first tooth anywhere from 4-7 yrs, hes just an early bloomer!
Reply:dont be panic.just ask a doctor on monday
Reply:I lost my two front teeth within like two days of each other when I was four and they both grew in just fine, if it really worries you take him to the dentist but I'll bet it's just permanent teeth coming through and in effect knocking out the baby teeth

Loose adult tooth !!!!!?

I was eating toffee bar,I bit into it and my tooth became loose! And its an adult tooth so it wont grow back if it falls out!Im really scared because it near the front!!Can a loose tooth grow back into place!??Please help!!!!!!Please!

Thanks so much!

Loose adult tooth !!!!!?
No, it won't grow back, Go to your dentist to consult with them instead.
Reply:If it's that loose I would get it checked out at the dentist.

But, I've heard teeth can re-root.
Reply:this tooth will most probobily re-root. Just don't chew on that side for a while and dont brush it 2 hard and it will be fine .
Reply:If the tooth is loose there is an underlying problem, bottome line. If it came losse when you bid down on something there is a chance that the tooth broke off from the crown and the periodontal ligament is the only thing holding it in place. If this is the case, it is not good and it might be possible to do a root canal, post and core, and a crown, or it might just have to be extracted.

The other scenario is you have periodontal disease and you have bone loss and attachment loss around the tooth leaving less support therefore causing it to be mobile. There are several methods to treat periodontally compromised teeth.

So, only a dentist can tell you what the cause is, so I suggest you see one.

Might loose tooth now...sue? #2?

Continued from: http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;...

Now, 2months later, I formed an abscess on that tooth and needed a root canal. When the Endodontist took an xray and saw the tooth, he said the infection had been around for so long that there is a chance my tooth might not be able to be save…about a 50% chance. He said that the pain and initial sighs would have started about 2MONTHS AGO! So now I am taking HEAVY antibiotics, a mouthwash and trying to keep my mouth as clean as possible to try and save this tooth…but I am REALLY ticked off.

If my dentist would have taken an xray of my tooth instead of fitting for a $400 night-guard (which I probably don’t need), I would not be at the point I am at right now of potentially LOOSING one of my teeth. So what should I do? Sue? Can I? I am just so angry with the whole situation. Not taking an xray when a patient comes in with jaw pain? Seems negligent.

Might loose tooth now...sue? #2?
I work closely with an attorney that sues dentists. He probably wouldn't take the case (not enough$$). You can try to sue, of course, but you should address all of these concerns to your dentist, in a letter or in person, whichever is easier. Ask for a refund for the guard. Unfortunately, teeth abscess all the time after crowns. (Which is why I'm opposed to them). See whatever other kind of refund you can get.

I had a patient recently that had a root canal and crown on a tooth. It had a cavity under it and that looked to be irritating the gum. I changed the crown, but the gum continued to be a problem. I sent her to the endodontist and he found that the person who did the root canal perforated the root. (I can't see that on an xray). The tooth needs to come out and she needs an implant. So the patient called me wondering about all of the expensive work we just did within the last 9 months. I told her that I'd apply what she spent on that crown onto the crown she'll eventually need for the implant. I would hope your dentist would have similar sense of ethics.
Reply:All I can say is I had an abses last week and it was so painfull. I lost the tooth cause I didn't have the money for a root canal. And let me tell you, it was worth me loosing a tooth than to go through that pain.
Reply:I would look into it but I doubt it. I go in Monday to have my front tooth pulled. (You probably read about it) but I think I would definitely get a different dentist. I think I am where I am because I felt my last dentist was charging me a lot of money and not telling me what needed to be done. good luck on everything.
