My son is 7 years old and has 5 loose teeth. None of them bother him except for one. He says that it really hurts. Is this normal or not?

Yes it is normal. Sometimes portions of the root break as it is re-absorbed in preperation for the " fall out ". this can leave small sharp edges in the gums that jab as the tooth wiggles about.....also the gums themselves are tender as the new adult teeth errupt. It may be that that particular tooth is farthest along in the process ( the adult tooth underneath is closest to eruption )
