I have a loose tooth. Will it be alright if I just leave it or does it have to come out?

I got in a fight and had a tooth knocked loose. It wiggles slightly and was wondering if it has to be pulled out or if through time it would heal and be fine.

If it is NOT a baby tooth, which I am assuming it is NOT, I would most DEFINITELY go to the dentist and get his or her recommendation. I wouldn't wait, either. You do not want to get an infection in there and end up losing the tooth all together if it can be saved.

Reply:Go to your dentist immediately. (S)he will be able to tell you what to do, but my best guess is that it will be removed/replaced.
Reply:The tooth could be loose but the root could still be intact, so definitely have it checked out. It would be much less expensive to restore your own tooth than to have it extracted and replaced. If you leave it the way it is, you probably will develop an infection which can further complicate things and narrow your options
