5yr old boy has loose tooth?

My 5 year old son has a loose lower front tooth, he says it doesnt hurt and is not real bothered about, I'm concerned that this is too early for him to start losing teeth. Is it common or should I get him to dentist asap?

5 is not unusual for a child to start losing the milk teeth. A dentist will not be able to do anything.

Reply:My 5 year old daughter was accidentally elbowed in the mouth on New Year's Day and had 2 loose baby teeth. We were told there was nothing to be done and they fell out about 4 weeks later, just three days before starting school. It is now over 1 month and the new teeth are coming through with no problems. P.S....Other children in her class aged 41/2 to 51/2 have also lost baby teeth.
