I pulled my loose tooth out just now. There is some sort of red, wiggly thing hanging from my gums?

Does anyone know what this is? It's kind of shaped like a canine (which was the tooth which fell out), but wiggly and red. Anyone know what it is? The tooth probably fell pre maturely, since my pre molar wanted to grow further.
