The fillings I lost were really long and when I pulled them out some of the bone came out with the fillings.
I have looked on the internet, but I can only find what loosing teeth means. And it wasn't my teeth, only the fillings.

I have had a loose tooth for almost 2 years?
my dentist says its a baby tooth ( im in my 30's ) and it will fall out on its own, i can see the new tooth underneath which is clearly going rotten as obviously i cant get to it to brush it properly. how can i persuade the dentist to pull it out. apart from this she seems like a good dentist and i dont want to change.

I'm fourteen and still have one last baby tooth. I'm afraid that if it comes out, I'll have a huge gap for a very long time. It's my right side canine. It's going from moving a little bit to moving more and more everyday.

Most people teeth and/or tooth is loose because another one is trying to grow in what ever spot the tooth is loose in.
For example, my two front teeth are loose because one of my adult teeth are trying to grow betwween them and the reason that that adult tooth is there in my gums is because a baby tooth did not come out. Basically, talk to you dentist.

If you are still worried about it I would suggest a trip to the dentist..

If the tooth continue to inflammed after two weeks, there might be an occlusal interference occur and can be resolved with a quick reduction of the contact area, easily done by your dentist. Your tooth should not have any more pain at this time. Sometimes the trauma will kill the nerve of the tooth, which cause the tooth to be darken. If occur, it will happen in about the second to third months. There will be no pain except that the cyst will start to form at the apex. Upon diagnosis, the root canal therapy will be performed. Unless the tooth is evulsed (completely detached) from the socket, loose tooth usually reattached and healed itself without any problem. My advice for you is wait at least two three months before making the decision to have the root canal done. If the tooth is not darkened, leave it alone. Hope my answer can be helpful to you.

If this were the nerve or pulp to this lateral tooth and it was the only thing holding the tooth in place, which isn't possible, you would be in incredible pain all the time, not just when you touch the tooth.
I don't know what condition your teeth are in, or how old you are but I am guessing young. I can presume this is a baby tooth with some tissue attachment from what you've described. It also needs to come out.
Take some ice and hold it on the tissue around the tooth to numb the tissue for a few minutes, then with a thin towel, grab the tooth and pull it downward with one quick yank.
You won't bleed to death and it will feel much better once removed.

If this were the nerve or pulp to this lateral tooth and it was the only thing holding the tooth in place, which isn't possible, you would be in incredible pain all the time, not just when you touch the tooth.
I don't know what condition your teeth are in, or how old you are but I am guessing young. I can presume this is a baby tooth with some tissue attachment from what you've described. It also needs to come out.
Take some ice and hold it on the tissue around the tooth to numb the tissue for a few minutes, then with a thin towel, grab the tooth and pull it downward with one quick yank.
You won't bleed to death and it will feel much better once removed.

My tooth is really really lose and its almost out, it hurts really really bad so do you have any way of pulling out a tooth without pain? and no trips to the dentist. I'm 13 so its still a baby tooth.

Put the paper towel over the tooth and with your thumb and index finger get a good grip on the tooth (kind of like you are pinching it real hard) and work it until you remove it. You might just want to work with it while you sit and watch t.v. because that will distract you a little.
It will be more painful wiggling it because of the sharpness of the tooth on the gums, but you will notice a sudden relief of pain once you have removed the tooth.
You just have to be brave for a second and really get it out and you will find that it will be okay.

What I do is that if it is loose enough to move with your tongue, then push it hard with your tongue in the directions that it feels comfortable moving. Don't push the tooth so hard that you hurt yourself, but if it is that loose, you can repeatedly wiggle it with your tongue and it should get looser and come out.

Help! Don't know what to do but I'm sure that I have gum disease stemming from 5 years back. All of my research indicates that I got it while pregnant with my first daughter. I cracked a molar too during that pregnancy. So now that all of that has happened I never went to the dentist because I was either pregnant or didn't have insurance. Now the tooth is loose and I can't chew down on it. It formed some sort of (what I think is an,) abscess on my gums. I can see the signs of my gum wearing away to expose my teeth too, suggesting the worst stage of gum disease. I didn't know all of this until I started researching. Is there a dentist on here that can inform me of what I have to look forward too? I'm terrified of the dentist, it's part of the reason I never went.

My min pin that's about 6 months was throwing up yesterday all of his food then wouldn't eat at all... Reply:true story: i had this dream a couple weeks ago and it puzzled me. i told my housemate and she looked it up on the computer on some site and it suggested that i go to the doctor because it meant something was wrong. she didn't know this, but earlier that day, i did go to the doctors because i wasn't feeling well. he told me i had bronchitis! i was disbelief!

It can also be that you do something to your teeth while sleeping such as grinding them that subconsciously transfers into your dreams. Think of it like if someone was whispering in your ear while you were dreaming so you dream about being whispered to. Or you lay on your arm funny and dream your arm is sluggish.
So to be safe, get your teeth looked at by a dentist(it's not that much), maybe get a cleaning(they could be annoyed by plaque buildup). Then you can rest easy and dream of bunnies again.
Reply:I dont really have an answer for your question, but if it helps, I have these same dreams and its usually weekly. In your dream can u feel the teeth coming out. Like u can feel the pain and u are touching them hanging in your mouth and ur freakin out. But, theres nothing u can do. And it happens so often that u just forget about in in the morning. Mine have been happening for about 6 months now or longer. So, I would really love to know an answer to this one too. My 4 year old son's tooth is loose.?
How long does it take for the big teeth to come in after he loses the tooth? Also isn't this kinda early, he did get his 1st tooth at 3 months though. Also after the 1st tooth falls out when do the others start getting loose and falling out?

Yes, it's pretty young, but it isn't bad. Most kids are around six, but if he got his teeth early it only make sense that he could lose them early too. Normally teeth start to grow back but take a while. It will just be a little white bump pushing through his gums. Other teeth may or may not follow this early one, they are all different. Did he ever hit it??? Anyway, it's not a big deal because he'll get a permanent one.

It is not too early. You will see a new tooth coming out within 4 weeks. My children had their 1st tooth coming out age between 3-6yrs old. Every child is different. My oldest lost all baby teeth by age 11 but my 2nd had all by age 9 so there is no alarm.

I had two foster children and neither one lost their first baby tooth until they were each 8 years old. I asked the dentist about the fact that they hadn't lost any of their baby teeth. He said if the earlier they get their baby teeth the earlier they would loose them.
Also as a side note, they typically loose their teeth in the same order in which the baby teeth came in.
My daughter just had her 5 year old dental visit. They took xrays and we could see her permanant teeth coming in. Our dentist does not start taking xrays until the child is 5 years old. She does not have any loose teeth yet but the dentist said within the next twelve months or so (give or take a few months) she should get her first loose tooth. At eleven months my daughter got her first tooth. Within a month she had two more coming in. She was almost three before she got her two year molars. She will be at least 6 before she looses her first tooth. If you look at the physical development it makes perfect sense that a child who got their first baby tooth at 3 months would also loose them at a younger age.
I wouldn't be to concerned about it. If your son has not seen a dentist (I am assuming he has) definately take him in. If he does see a dentist regularly, you might want to ask the dentist if he could do zrays due to the early loss of his first tooth.

I have 3 kids who are still losing their teeth! 8, 10 and 13. The front teeth are the ROUGH ONES! top!

My daughter is a little over 5yrs and the tooth is loose. She didn't experience any injury to knock it loose and she just realized it before lunch time today. I always thought that the top two teeth went first.

How to pull a loose without acutally pulling it?
ok so this may sound kind of dumb but ive had a loose tooth for like 5 years. i have quote unquote vampire syndrome and it hurts like hell id try pulling it harder and harder but it hurts to bad. so i wait and it kind of tightens up and i have to start all over again but this time i can push the tooth all the way back so that it touches my gums. can anyone help?

Loose tooth on an older cat?
He is eating on the right side of his mouth only, he hasn't meowed in two days (he's a talker!), and he is leaving puddles of foamy spittle around the house. Because he has been known to eat the dogs' dry food, I suspect he broke or loosened up a tooth. Anyone have this problem before? Do the symptoms sound right?

Hi Mickey...sounds like your cat will be soon evaluated this coming weekend for loosend tooth. Periodontal disorders of the teeth and gums are common with aging cats either from diet, age, accidental chewing of hard objects, etc.
Here are a couple web articles by Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine for Feline Health about feline periodontal disorders and how they are treated and the effects it causes (e.g. bad breath, foamy drooling, etc):

Most cats have gingivitis and most older cats have it to a significant degree. As in humans, gingivitis results in bone loss and loose teeth.
Kitty may be in serious pain with that bad tooth. It probably needs to come out, and when the vet puts him under to extract it, I'll bet s/he'll find more teeth that need to come out.
Please get kitty to a vet for some dental work. He could very well be in pain. Not eating on that side of his mouth, not "talking" and drooling spittle all suggest pain.

At what age do children begin losing there baby teeth?
My son is four (will be 5 in August), and has a loose tooth. Barely loose, but loose. Is this too early? About a year ago he hit this tooth when he and his father were playing, and it has always been a little darker than the rest. Any information is appreciated.

There will be another to take it's place, dont worry. My daughter had 2 front teeth accidently knocked out at 5 and one recently just grew in at age 7 1/2.
Reply:I don't think that is too early. All children are different. My daughter started losing hers about 5. I have heard it depends on if they got their teeth early or late but I don't know how true that is. That tooth could have been slightly injured from hitting it but his new one should come in fine. There will be another to take it's place, dont worry. My daughter had 2 front teeth accidently knocked out at 5 and one recently just grew in at age 7 1/2.
Reply:I don't think that is too early. All children are different. My daughter started losing hers about 5. I have heard it depends on if they got their teeth early or late but I don't know how true that is. That tooth could have been slightly injured from hitting it but his new one should come in fine. I think my tooth is loose?
I have braces. On the top of my left hand side of my mouth the back tooth just on the left hurts really bad and i can't bite down. this has been going on for 3 months. 2 appointments ago at my orthodontist. he told me i probably got food under my gum. Well, Wouldn't it have gone away by now? it really bothers me. do you think it might be loose? (my regular cleaning dentist told me that i lost all my baby teeth.) Help!???!

b)wiggle vigorously back and fourth about 15 times
c)twist and rotate the tooth until it comes out
If it gets too bloody while you're wiggling it, use a tissue over your fingers. Once the tooth is out bite down on a wet cotton ball or tissue to control the bleeding.

My wife is 28 and is having toothache. she is certain that its a baby tooth. Has anyone else had a baby tooth remain until they were almost 30?

Whats the going rate for teeth now?

I can't help myself. I have to ask this. I love reading weight loss sites and messages boards. Are any of you shocked that so many people who want to "lose" weight cannot spell the word? They want to "loose" weight. It will never happen, although some of us may have loose skin hanging on our bodies after losing weight.
"Loose" means not securely fastened, such as a loose tooth. Or it can mean having freedom from confinement as in "a lion loose in the streets." Loose can also indicate lacking moral restraint as in "unchaste." On the other hand you can lose weight, lose your money, lose your mind (kidding), lose the love of your life.
The "s" sound in lose sounds like "z." The "s" sound in loose, is a "s" sound.
That's the problem when we have to depend on spelling checks. Both are correct words so will not show up incorrectly.

Reply:My ideas? Try to do 200 minutes of cardio a week. Remember fat does not turn into muscle, so you need to lose your fat while putting on muscle. Work hard, but don't over 60 minutes at a time. Do planks and other abs exercises on alternate days.
On training days, do 5-10 minutes of cardio to warm up, then do your weight training. Do 30 to 60 minutes more of cardio, then go home.
The best time to eat is just after your workout within an hour when your metabolism is raging. For your muscles, incorporate some isolated soy protein or whey protein. Whey is more potent but the soy tastes better!
Don't look at your scale as the be all and end all, but get a measuring tape to check your progress, and that will show more tangible results.
Read magazines like Shape, Womens Fitness, Fitness, etc to get tips and to stay motivated.
Good luck and stick at it. This plan has lost me 20 lbs in 12 weeks so far, just go for it!

My dog's tooth is loose.?
I brush my dogs' teeth several times a week (try to do it everyday but sometimes I forget), but my oldest dog has always resisted teeth brushing as I didn't start brushing her teeth until she was 6 years old. However, her breath has recently become horrible, so I really looked in her mouth and found that her fartherst back molar is quite decalcified and actually loose.
She had her regular vet do her physical last year and she said that while there was a little calculus build-up it wasn't worth putting her under to get her teeth cleaned. Last week she went and got a check-up with a different vet at the practice, who failed to even notice this problem..
She is not showing signs of discomfort, no changes in eating. I am concerned about this leading to kidney/liver problems, and would like it to be removed. Thing is, she is 11 y/o, so I'm really worried about the risks that come with anesthesia.
What should I do?

This is just my opinion but I wouldn't risk the surgery, at least, not the surgery involved in getting her teeth cleaned. I would try to avoid but still consider having the offending tooth pulled.
My preferred path would be to treat her with antibiotics, topical if possible, and plan/hope that the gum around the tooth firms up as the infection clears up. Since her breath has recently become horrible, that's an excellent indicator that she is indeed suffering from an infection. It could have been caused by something (like a pocorn kernel? a bone shard?) getting lodged in her gum. Anyway, the less treatment the better in my book...or at least, never more than is absolutely necessary - we often exacerbate what Nature can best take care of on its own.
Gums are to teeth as soil is to mountainside trees. Once this has been resolved, consider giving her toys/food/treats that will help toughen up her gums. She'll enjoy them and they'll do her more good than frequent toothbrushing. Your vet will be able to make some informed suggestions...

Reply:Unless the area around the tooth looks red and inflamed, I would let nature take it's course. If it does look red I would take the dog back to the vet, point out the problem directly and express your concern.

Reply:Having the deep cleaning is the best option but it is only a temporary fix. I have a rott/chow mix and he is 12 years old his breath is mind blowing. I have done the deep cleaning for 5 years now and it works but not for long. I just made the appointment to have his teeth removed. They can still eat and it really is like an elderly person getting dentures. No, I am not saying that my dog is getting dentures but due to the bacteria and the mouth infections and horriable breath I am going to have the teeth removed. It is not cruel and will give my dog a better quality of for what ever time he has left with me. He is in great shape and very healthy except for the mouth and teeth. Because of her age, the vet will do a pre-op blood work-up and let you know then if she has any other problems. They'll also be able to tell you what her risks would be for surgery. That's when you can make an informed decision as to what's best for her. And yes, you're right, if her tooth's bad, it could lead to serious health problems.

She had her regular vet do her physical last year and she said that while there was a little calculus build-up it wasn't worth putting her under to get her teeth cleaned. Last week she went and got a check-up with a different vet at the practice, who failed to even notice this problem..
She is not showing signs of discomfort, no changes in eating. I am concerned about this leading to kidney/liver problems, and would like it to be removed. Thing is, she is 11 y/o, so I'm really worried about the risks that come with anesthesia.

This is just my opinion but I wouldn't risk the surgery, at least, not the surgery involved in getting her teeth cleaned. I would try to avoid but still consider having the offending tooth pulled.
My preferred path would be to treat her with antibiotics, topical if possible, and plan/hope that the gum around the tooth firms up as the infection clears up. Since her breath has recently become horrible, that's an excellent indicator that she is indeed suffering from an infection. It could have been caused by something (like a pocorn kernel? a bone shard?) getting lodged in her gum. Anyway, the less treatment the better in my book...or at least, never more than is absolutely necessary - we often exacerbate what Nature can best take care of on its own.
Gums are to teeth as soil is to mountainside trees. Once this has been resolved, consider giving her toys/food/treats that will help toughen up her gums. She'll enjoy them and they'll do her more good than frequent toothbrushing. Your vet will be able to make some informed suggestions...

I have done the deep cleaning for 5 years now and it works but not for long. I just made the appointment to have his teeth removed. They can still eat and it really is like an elderly person getting dentures. No, I am not saying that my dog is getting dentures but due to the bacteria and the mouth infections and horriable breath I am going to have the teeth removed. It is not cruel and will give my dog a better quality of for what ever time he has left with me. He is in great shape and very healthy except for the mouth and teeth. My 6 year-old is about to lose is second tooth.....so I thought. His two front bottom teeth were loose at the same time, and one of them fell out over a month ago, but the other one is still hanging on. The new tooth is coming through behind it (somewhat sideways, too). I've promised him I won't pull it %26amp; we work with it %26amp; wiggle it just about every day. It's VERY loose, it can even move from side to side, but because the new tooth is coming in behind it, we can't wiggle it in THAT direction, which normally I think would be just what it needs to finally let go. What are the chances that this could damage his new tooth trying to come in?

I haven't been to the dentist yet b/c I have no insurance or money to pay for my visit. oh um...would grinding against that tooth make it even more loose? help me out please, I don't wanna have to have it pulled I mean I'm only 20 :(.
Why does my tooth feel loose and hurt?
First of all teeth are not rigidly fused to the bone so a very little movement under finger pressure is normal . Other than that here are the choices
1. tooth is dead with an abscess -would need root canal or extraction
2. tooth is broken -would need root canal and crown.
3. tooth is being knocked around in its socket during chewing ,nail biting ,or during sleep (bruxism) -would need a little grinding
4. tooth has lost its supporting tissues thru periodontal disease .-would need evaluation for splinting or extraction.
You need a dental exam at the very least -try public health service or a dental school you may have in area

My front bottom tooth is loose?
Hi, as a kid, i have already lost my front teeth. Well, now, apparently, I was not brushing properly and formed calculus on my teeth. Well, I still didn't learn my lesson from my last 3 cleanings. I had one last week and now, I am trying harder to keep my teeth clean. When I flossed tonight, I noticed a black dot on the side of my tooth right next to the gum. I flossed it out, and my gum started to bleed (not normal). I then proceeded to get the other side of my tooth, when I noticed that the the tooth that I was flossing was becoming loose! I stopped immediately and got to my computer. This tooth is not about 1/8 - 1/4" taller than the rest of my teeth. The one that I am talking about is the bottom tooth right next to the left pointy one.

I have a loose front tooth from a fall, is there anything I can do beside going to a dentist?
Two weeks ago, I fell and smacked the left side of my head/face on the floor. As a result, my front tooth loosened. After all this time, it is still loose, I do not have dental insurance to go to a dentist, so I am looking for a "self solution" if there is one out there. Thanks,

You really need to figure out some way to go to the dentist. You may have no visible damage to the tooth, but if it's loose you can possibly have damage to the roots. Just like with a plant, if the root is damaged the plant can die; so can your tooth. You can also get an infection in your gums and loose more teeth. A standard checkup is relatively inexpensive, and they can diagnose and give you an estimate on what it will cost if something does not need to be done, and then you can come back later and get it done. Also, a lot of places will be willing to set up a payment plan for work done that can be extremely reasonable......sorry for your fall.

Reply:If you go to a dentist ASAP, he or she may be able to splint your tooth against the teeth next to it, so that it doesn't fall out and has a chance to repair. This will cost you a little bit, but splinting can be fairly simple and it won't cost you nearly as much as replacing a tooth that has fallen out. The soon you go in, the less chance you have of losing that tooth, and the more money you will save in the long run. Teeth aren't a do-it-yourself type of thing -- you should really have a dentist look at it.
Reply:when my little sister was 9 she fell off her bike and hit her front teeth(adult teeth), and she didn't tell our mom they were loose. After about 2-3 weeks they were still pretty wobbly and then they started to turn dark gray. Then 1 fell out and mom took her to a dentist, and she ended up losing the other 3 too. If it's been loose this long it's probly gonna fall out. If you don't mind having a missing tooth I guess you don't have to do anything, but you might want to at least get it checked out before it gets infected unless it falls out first. That's how my sister lost 4 of her front teeth.
