If an adult has a tooth loose, seemingly cracked at the base, near the gum, can he try to hold onto it--keep it in place-- until he can get to the dentist? Could a dentist repair it so it stays there?
Help! What to do about a loose tooth?
If the tooth is cracked in the root and is loose as a result, it will be difficult to retain. Without x-rays and a good exam the question cannot be answered with certainty. You should see your dentist as soon as possible as an infection is a possibility in this situation. Good Luck!
Reply:The tooth will never be the same and should be considered lost. Consider a bridge or implant.
Reply:As a lawyer I can saw without qualification that you should ask a Dentist
Reply:call a dentist today... maybe some one can see you now
Reply:He can get a root canal and see if it is worth holding onto. It may or may not be.
Reply:an x-ray and exam is needed to see how and where the tooth is cracked.
if it feels loose it's best to see a dentist ASAP. cracks can allow in bacteria causing more problems.
