My little sister has a loose tooth?

she is has one loose that we dont know if its a real (forever) tooth or a milk one(change for real one). is there a way to find out that is not the doctor since the apptment is in 2 weeks and it really hurts her.

My little sister has a loose tooth?
Depending on how old your little sister is, it certainly could be a baby tooth. Because the tooth is loose, I would tend to believe it a a baby tooth.

Enclosed is a tooth eruption chart of both the primary (baby, deciduous, or milk teeth) and the permanent (adult) teeth. If she is about the age of the adult teeth erupting and the area corresponds with the chart, this can give you an indication if it is a loose baby tooth with an adult tooth trying to pop through under the gum. Keep in mind the chart is a general average or approximation, each individual may be a little early or late, but it can give you a guide to go by.

If the tooth is giving her pain calling your dentist is the best option. Good luck
Reply:How old is she? If it is small it could just be a baby tooth ready to come out.
Reply:That's nothing, mine has a loose screw!

Seriously, she or you should call the dentist and explain she's in pain. They should see her right away.
Reply:depends ....how old is she and where do you live? in what state?
Reply:You should go to a dentist before pulling it out. Chances are, it's a primary (baby) tooth. Primary teeth are usually smaller and the roots are thin and not made of tooth material. However, baby molars are longer and wider. To be 100% sure, see a professional.

Good luck!
Reply:Primary teeth get loose some where between the ages of 5 - 7. They get loose because the roots resorb just before the permanent teetth are ready to come thru. The lower front ones usually come out first, then the uppers.
Reply:More than likely it is a baby tooth, permanent teeth don't just get loose for no reason unless you were hit the mouth or something. She is at the right age to be losing those teeth.

Young dog 4 yrs old loose tooth, can i pull it?

shitsu-poodle mix mut has loose tooth no pain. has just been hanging there bad breath

Young dog 4 yrs old loose tooth, can i pull it?
I'd take it to the vet. The bad breath sounds like she might have some infection going on. All you need is that to spread. Unfortunately bad teeth are really common in toy breeds and regular dental care helps.
Reply:Take it to the vet. There may be infection and you'd need antibiotics.

Just go to the vet.
Reply:Sure pull it. I have pulled my husbands teeth. So I am sure you can pull a dogs.
Reply:Bring your dog to a vet or veterinary dentist because

although the teeth will eventually drop out it may gather infection and cause your dog to loose more of it's teeth.
Reply:Please dont pull it yourself. If there is a loose tooth then your dog probably has periodontal disease. Take it to a vet and get its teeth cleaned and have a professional extract the tooth. If you dont take care of it now it will only get worse.
Reply:No just take it to the vet.
Reply:I wouldn't if I were you, but hey that's just my opinion.

How to pull out a loose tooth anybody!?

I have this loose tooth and it is kinda strong and it is very anouying! Do you have anything so I can pull it out?

How to pull out a loose tooth anybody!?
Is it a baby tooth? If it's not, don't pull it out. Talk to a dentist. But if it is a baby tooth, just wait a while, it'll come out. You might also try eating apples or harder food because your tooth can come out in them.
Reply:tie a strong string around it=tie the other end to a door handle =walk the length away that will make the door come with you a bit =then SLAM it (door)
Reply:the ol string and the door will hurt but it will do it...i promise and if it doesnt then its super stubborn
Reply:youre not supposed to pull it out thats bad for you it will come out by itself
Reply:Use a bow and tie a string to the arrow like this dad did.

Pulling a child's loose tooth?

My son has a tooth loose and he screams and fights me to even be able to work on it. I have the back of it detached and it is hooked on the sides and front. Any suggestions on how to make this pleasant? Please no sarcasm ....it is a little boy.

Pulling a child's loose tooth?
My daughters are going through the same loosing teeth stage...except I have two to deal with!

If they have a loose one then I give them an apple or other type of hard fruit to bite on. It comes out like a charm without any screaming or fighting!

Good luck!
Reply:it will come out on it's own, leave him alone.
Reply:just leave it alone, it will come out on it's own, you shouldn't yank on it, it will soon come without any pain, probably by the end of the day.
Reply:work on it while he is sleeping i had the samething happen to my lil one
Reply:just let it be! it will come out on it's own, no need to be pulling on it. that itself will make it quite unpleasant!
Reply:I have two little boys and I know where you're coming from. Just leave it alone!!! When he's hungry, as all little boys are, he will eventually have to do it himself (best way) if he wants to eat. Is this his first one? Don't forget to tell him about the tooth fairy, and a popsicle after it comes out is a great way to stop any bleeding, which may frighten some kids. Good luck!
Reply:when hes asleep just open his mouth and hold the tooth gently and start twisting back and forth gently without any pressure on it and eventually one side will unhook then the other

**There will be no blood so dont worry**
Reply:either leave alone or go to the dentist.
Reply:one quick twist
Reply:I would wait a few days before trying to pull the tooth. It doesn't sound like it is really ready to come out. Give you son harder things to chew like an apple or carrots, to loosen the tooth up so you son doesn't realize what is going on. When the tooth is really ready give him some Childrens pain killer medicine. Then start working on the tooth. It isn't going to hurt him if the tooth comes out naturally! My son was eating corn on the cob one day and before he was eating the corn he had a loose tooth and after he was done eating I notice his tooth wasn't there anymore!!!! lol I believe he had swallowed his own tooth and didn't even know it. Anyways mypoint to that story is its okay if you wait a few more days!!!
Reply:When I was little all of my teeth were very hard to get out. I never let my parents touch them because I could handle the pain better if it were me messing with it. Just leave him alone and let him work on it or let it come out on its own. There is nothing worse than having someone mess with something painful and keeping at it.
Reply:Give him corn on he cob, or wiggle it around for a wile, make sure your gentle though. I understand why he doesnt want you touching it, I never wanted my mom touching it, it hurts more then you think. You should take him to the dentist or leave it alone if its really bothering him.
Reply:My lil sister's latest came out with gum lol.
Reply:I have 2 kids and we started using tootsie rolls. They bite into it and the tooth stays in the candy. They don't really feel anything when they do it and they feel that they have control over the situation. We have tried holding ice on the gums to numb it for awhile.and also ambesol gel to numb it but this way worked the best for us.

Red mark on a loose tooth?

My neice's baby tooth is fairly loose and a red mark had streaked across it. What does this mean? Should she pull it? She wanted me to ask.

Red mark on a loose tooth?
blood?

teeth do bleed when they are loose
Reply:Red mark is a tinge of blood. Pull it if it is loose enough and bothersome. If it is still snug, let it alone for another day or so until it loosens to the point that it is easy to grasp. Then tug on it a little until it comes out.
Reply:hi, im a dentist and i get loads of people asking me what they should do. well, this is perfectly normal ts this means that the tooth wont bleed much when it falls out - which could be any day soon -. thank you, please vote me as est answer

What is the average age to loose all of your baby teeth?

You LOSE (without the second 'o') all your baby teeth by about the age of 12, on average.

What is the average age to loose all of your baby teeth?
11
Reply:6-7
Reply:Loose them? Do you mean you physically loosen your teeth?

How about LOSE?
Reply:I asia its 12
Reply:I'd say about 11-12. I think 11 was when mine were all gone or 10 maybe.
Reply:I believe it is 12 years old.
Reply:11 or 12 is the most common, although it does vary from person to person.

Pulling a child's loose tooth?
I waited until my son's tooth was barely hanging on, then I wrapped a piece of tooth floss around it and pulled. It was painless. He was very excited. He was very nervous the second time and I just waited until he was ready.
Reply:You didn't mention how old your son is, but if you think he is old enough, let him wiggle it until it comes free. That seems to be the least traumatic.

If it's his first loose tooth, you may want to numb the area with some Oragel.
Reply:Let him do it, he's a little boy!
Reply:I would let him do it, because you are going to scare him. I know you want the tooth out and you dont want him to choke on it but still you want him to trust you. when i was a child my dad poured peroxide on my toe that i had cut and for years i was scared to let him know when i got cut because i was scared of him sanatizing it. Good luck
Reply:Let him do it or just leave it. I have gone both routes with my kids, and its best to let it be until they are ready to let you.

Actually if his teeth are coming in behind it, I would tell him either you let me pull it or we go to the dentist and he/she can, and I would actually make the call, chances are he will give in and let you pull it.
Reply:Why do you have to screw with it? It'll come out naturally. Let the boy have some fun and play with his tongue and tooth. That is a great childhood experience. Don't you remember it? Leave him alone. It'll come out when it's ready or when he plays with it and it comes loose. Then let him put it under his pillow and let the tooth fairy give him $5 for all the torture you've put him through.
Reply:Leave it alone. If you mess with it too much it can screw up the new tooth underneath. just let it work its way loose.
Reply:I agree with everyone else, just let him do it. Unless he's in pain, it's actually a lot of fun for little kids to have loose teeth. I used to love showing everyone how I could wiggle my tooth, it was cool! If it seems like it's taking too long to come out, start giving him sticky foods like peanut butter sandwiches. I one time had a tooth come out on a bologna sandwich.
Reply:i usually gently twist my tooth.

then i would promise your son an ice cream sundae or a special thing.

tell him about the tooth fairy and that she will bring him somthing special if you let mommy pull it out.

make it sound as painless as possible.
Reply:My son's dentist told us to never pull it out. It's susposed to come out naturally. Not to be yanked out. That's not good for his dental health. Just relax and wait for it to come out on it's own. It doesn't matter if your parents did that or not. It's the right thing to do. Leave it alone and it will come out when it's ready.
Reply:Pulling a tooth for a child is pretty scary. Try corn on the cob at dinner, ribs, apples... When he least expects it, it will come out. But don't let him know what your up too.... He may favor that side. Worked for me!!

Good Luck with this...
Reply:i brid my kids but normally does not work he just wiggles it out himself the last loose tooth was barely hanging on but he would not play with it so i told him i wanted to c how loose it was a pulled it out i have tried giving him gum also but he caught on the that and would not chew it
Reply:either numb it really well with orajel or something or try doing it in his sleep! or trick him by making a dinner of hard to chew items. tell him he cant get up until he is done eating!
Reply:Leave it and him alone. When he is ready to pull it he will do so.
Reply:let the tooth fall out itself
Reply:i would pull it in his sleep, shouldnt wake him up, like you said, hardly even torture. If that doesnt work and he wakes up Explain to him that if you cant pull it then the dentist will have to and that hurts 10x worse. My tooth was like this and what my brother did was he put one finger on the front of it and tapped kinda hard on is finger. I couldnt even feel it at all, did use any numbing either.

If you have a loose tooth, will it fall out?

If an adult tooth is loose, and it moves and it bleeds, but it hasn't fallen out. Will it definitely fall out?

If you have a loose tooth, will it fall out?
Yeah, it will fall out. You can't sew it back into place and it can't be loose forever.
Reply:Not necessarily. Don't wiggle it around. Give it time to heal and if your lucky it will stay in place. If you can keep your original teeth you are much better off. I have two molars that were knocked out in an accident and I had to get a bridge. It is not fun to take care of. I have had many teeth in the past that were loose and bleeding they stayed in and don't cause me any trouble. You can rinse your mouth out with saltwater to help stop the bleeding. Just don't swallow. Good Luck!
Reply:If you had an accident that caused your loose tooth go see your dentist, if the toot became loose by itself go see your dentist.

If you have to wait for an appointment use a salt solution to gargle that will help keep any infection at bay.

I have a loose tooth. Will it be alright if I just leave it or does it have to come out?

I got in a fight and had a tooth knocked loose. It wiggles slightly and was wondering if it has to be pulled out or if through time it would heal and be fine.

I have a loose tooth. Will it be alright if I just leave it or does it have to come out?
If it is NOT a baby tooth, which I am assuming it is NOT, I would most DEFINITELY go to the dentist and get his or her recommendation. I wouldn't wait, either. You do not want to get an infection in there and end up losing the tooth all together if it can be saved.
Reply:it will probably heal if you just leave it alone, unless it got damaged and not just loose.
Reply:I'd definitely go see a dentist. He or she will determine what you should do.
Reply:I know this is not what you probably want to hear but I would get a dentist to check it out. He/'she sees this kind of things all the time.
Reply:MANY TIMES IN A FIST FIGHT THERE IS TRAUMA TO A TOOTH AND IT REMAINS ALIVE.

DO NOT TOUCH IT AT ALL AND SEE YOUR DENTIST T SAVE IT.
Reply:Go to your dentist immediately. (S)he will be able to tell you what to do, but my best guess is that it will be removed/replaced.
Reply:The tooth could be loose but the root could still be intact, so definitely have it checked out. It would be much less expensive to restore your own tooth than to have it extracted and replaced. If you leave it the way it is, you probably will develop an infection which can further complicate things and narrow your options
Reply:You need to see a dentist dear

What happens if you leave a loose tooth in?

i was eating a granola bar last night and bit down and felt a crunch. now my front tooth is loose. not loose enough to pull out. but loose enough that if i push on it with my tounge it causes pain. will it tighten back up? or will i have to have it removed a get a partial or a bridge? thanks!

What happens if you leave a loose tooth in?
You need to go see your dentist. Whenever a tooth goes through trauma like that you can cause your tooth to die. You may end up needing a root canal if the nerve does die. The tooth should tighten back up on its own but if you notice your tooth starting to turn gray in color then the nerve of the tooth is dead and you will then need a root canal. Good Luck and I hope that you don't have anymore problems with your tooth.
Reply:IF ITS JUST SORE AND U DONT HAVE GUM DISEASE,IT WILL TIGHTEN UP.IF ITS TOO LOOSE,GO TO DENTIST,HAVE HIM HELP U SAVE IT,NOW!
Reply:firstly at is a granola bar? and secondly i think u should book in to see ur dentist! if its causing u pain then i think u should see someone!
Reply:You might have a piece of granola bar stuck underneath your gums and when you push on it.. pain. OR...it's possiblility that you fractured the tooth. I'd go in and AT LEAST have an x ray I wouldn't mess around with your front tooth. get it checked out.
Reply:You need to see a dentist right away to get it checked out or it will definately get worse
Reply:If its a baby tooth it will eventually fall out,if its an adult tooth and your gums are healthy with no gum disease or anything it should just tigthen back up. You have to stop playing with it thought if you want it to no loosen any more! :)

I have a loose tooth, I NEED HELP!!!?

Hi, I have this baby tooth, and the back has been popped off for a day, and i have tried breaking the front off... i know this sounds sick but, it won't break free, do i just leave it (it HURTS REALLY BAD!!!) or do i twist as hard as I can? I HAVE TRIED TWISTING IT VERY FAR, but it just doesn't want to break loose...

I have a loose tooth, I NEED HELP!!!?
Take some advil for the pain and just get a tissue and hold it over the tooth. Wiggle it slightly, until it hurts a tad. You're going to have to bear the pain and wiggle it. It should slowly become looser. I've popped a tooth off with my tongue before!
Reply:It might still have the root! Only when primary teeth (baby teeth) fall out they dont have a root. So it might be in there pretty deep! If you wanted to try it yourself I would get orajel (it has the numbing effect) and try to extract it!
Reply:Just get a paper towel grab the tooth and wiggle it around a bit. It will eventually come out.
Reply:Totally agree. wiggle it and leave it alone for a while, then wiggle it some more. It will work loose after a while.
Reply:To make this less painful, put some ice in your mouth and swish it all around that tooth until it feels numb. Then take a damp folded dish towel or damp folded wash cloth and place it under or over the tooth in your mouth and bite down hard on the folded towel. You can sort of chew on the towel, just make sure you have enough towel to bite down hard with this tooth. If it doesn't come out the first time, try again until you get it.
Reply:This is going to sound kind of silly but if you only have part of it left try chewing some gum right where the other piece is left! How many times have you heard about people losing fillings doing this? Alot! Otherwise though, rub some Orajel in the area and then try to take out the remaining part of the tooth. It sounds like part of the root has not resorbed and it could take a while, so I would personally try to take it out if it were mine.

Pulling out a loose tooth???
I have worked in the dental industry for years and one of the docs I worked with had a patient geta horrible inbfection and almost die from extracting his own tooth. He was an engineer and was embarrassed how grossly decayed his tooth was and took it out his self and came down with a horrendous infection about a week later. It is always better to see a professinal in these matters.
Reply:try the toaster or door trick, works every time.
Reply:if i were u, i would just keep wiggling that tooth for a while and eventually it will get SOOOOO loose that it will jsut be a breeze to take out that tooth. ^^ good luck!
Reply:eat some dumpling your tooth will get embedded in it an walla its outta there!!
Reply:See a dentist. I don't recommend pulling a loose tooth by yourself, if it's a permanent tooth. If you're having horrible pain, there is probably some infection in the gum, which requires professional attention. The dentist can numb the pain with novacaine, and since it's loose, it should easily come out. He or she can also give you antibiotics to kill any infection, and other medications to prevent "dry socket".
Reply:As a dental assistant, we always tell our patients to suck on an ice cube, and then when you're sitting somewhere (driving home, watching tv, doing homework...) wiggle it back and forth. What is going on is that your tooth has one longer root than the other, and how a tooth stays in your mouth is by little ligaments, like in your elbows and knees, and you need to loosen the ligaments until they are weak enough to break. Then, the tooth will slide right out and the new one will come in soon!
Reply:I have known patients to extract their own tooth. However, just know that if its a permanet tooth you do have a high risk of leaving a root tip. This can be sooooo painful. So if its a baby tooth, try chewing on some oversized bubble gum. If you think its an adult tooth, please have a dentist do it.

Can I Pull My Cat's Very Loose Tooth?

The other day, I noticed that my cat's tooth (the tiny incisor on the top of his mouth closest to his canine) looked out of place and the gum around it was very red. So, I took him to the vet. to see what was wrong, and the vet was able to wiggle the tooth A LOT! So, he recommend a blood test to check for organ damage and gave us antibiotics to take for the next month for his inflamed gums. My cat has been taking antibiotics for the past week or so and I am tempted to pull his tooth out myself. He has other health problems and is over 12 years old and I am worried that if he gets anesthetized, he might not wake up. His tooth is extremely loose and he's on antibiotics for his gums, so I'm asking, would it be wise to pull his tooth out myself? Anyone ever done this or heard of someone doing this?

Thanks.

Can I Pull My Cat's Very Loose Tooth?
It doesn't really seem like a great idea to me. Wait for the vet to diagnose him. Plus, your cat would be pretty peeved at you even if nothing bad happened.

Make sure your feeding him soft foods so it doesn't hurt him too much, and maybe call the clinic again to ask what to do about the tooth.
Reply:i wouldnt..=]
Reply:Nope i wouldnt either, you might not get the whole tooth.

Not sure why your vet wanted a blood test though (more money !!!!)

I am sure your vet will not put him through an Op if there is a chance he wouldnt wake up.

BTW, what are his other health problems ?
Reply:You could.....IF cat lets you....
Reply:NO!!! them things fall out when there ready
Reply:I dont think that I would do that. Just call your vet and see if the blood work has come back yet, because your very concerened.
Reply:My cat has a lose tooth too.I went to the vet.He told me to just let it fall out.If you try to pull it.It will get irratated.Trust me this just happened to me 2 days ago.
Reply:NO! that's the worst thing you could possibly do! Be patient and wait for the vet to get the test results back but till then be patient.

How to pull a loose tooth?

My 5 year old has a very loose tooth that is really bugging her. The back of her tooth is out it's just hanging in by the front. She actually asked me to pull it. How should I do this the least painful way? It doesn't need to be the quickest way just do the least painful way.

How to pull a loose tooth?
Twist it around for a while and if it doesnt hurt do it again until it comes out. Just make sure that the kid doesnt mess with the new tooth thats coming out cause itll come out crooked
Reply:When I used to have teeth that were barely hanging on like that i used to twist them around with my tongue or finger. Yeah, kind of gross. But they would usually fall out in a day or two without much pain.
Reply:Well I just pull a little then twist a little but then ask if it hurts if it dosen't repeat you barely feel a thing
Reply:Grab a hold of it with a peice of tissue ( so it does not slip) and pull out real fast.
Reply:You could numb it with ice and then very quickly pull it out or make her eat an apple.

My daughter has a loose tooth??

It's been loose for a few weeks now. The adult tooth is actually coming up and is behind the baby tooth. I keep telling her to work on it so it'll fall off but she's scared and I just don't want to have to go into her mouth and pull that sucker out myself. What to do? She's scared of the dentist, too..urgh..ideas anyone?

My daughter has a loose tooth??
My son is six and he has a tooth on the bottom that is doing this... just let it be, it will fall out on its own....
Reply:Tell her that there is a magical fairy that comes when you loose it! And that she uses them to bulid her casle!
Reply:that happened to my daughter only mine couldn't wait to loose a tooth. The adult teeth growing behind it wont hurt her or damage her. I would just let her tooth be and it'll fall out on its own. Meanwhile, get her excited about the tooth fairy and what she can buy with the tooth fairy money.
Reply:I like the answer that was just given, thats a good idea.... Also maybe give her an apple or something similar. honestly i think will be okay. The adult tooth 'should' eventually push that lil baby on out, that's how things supposed to work, but, keep an eye and if she starts feeling pain or having issues, then i'd contact her 'doctor', not necessarily have 2 contact dentist unless there is infection.... i bet doc would yank it.
Reply:I lost my first tooth the day after we watched the movie "the Fly". I thought I was turning into one.

You can't force it, it could cause mental trauma. My suggestion would be crunchy things like apples and carrots to see if you can't get it out on its own. Then get really excited about it. Do the toothfairy thing. Loosing teeth can be kinda scary. Things will go smoother if it becomes fun.
Reply:it needs to come out soon. tell her that the fairy called and needs that tooth to fall out so she can use it to build her castle!
Reply:that happened to me about a year ago when I lost my last baby tooth when I was 12. There was this tiny loose one and this new one coming up behind it. It was around for about 2 months and I brushed my teeth carefully so that it wouldn't fall out. Finally, one night when I was wiggling it, it got REALLY loose and I knew it was ready to come out. So I just walked to the bathroom and pulled it out easily. So my answer is, be patient.
Reply:tell her that if she doesnt get it out herself the dentist will. If you get it out by yourself then the tooth fairy comes and gives you money (or whatever you give)

but she should get it out soon or else it will get stuck.... it happened to me when I was younger ):

My maltese dog is loosing teeth?

i have a 4 yr old maltese and well i brush her teeth frequenly but her breath is awfull and i discover she is loosing her front two teeth and im worried about it what should i do because $ is tight right now

My maltese dog is loosing teeth?
You need to go to a vet before its too late. A friend of mine has a dog that always had bad teeth, and many teeth missing, THey didnt do anything about it until the dog was 14 and it ended up costin $2000 on dental work. If you dont go now you'll get stuck with a much bigger bill in the future. Even if you dont have much money right now, your dog is part of your family and you need to do what it needs.
Reply:collect them and sell it on Ebay
Reply:There may be something of use here.
Reply:Your dog isn't chewing on things because it is painful. Please call the animal society in your neighborhood or go online and find out where any free clinics are being held this weekend. Vets hold these free clinics all the time and while you may have to drive out of your area, remember that your dog is feeling the same kind of mouth pain that you would feel. I don't mean to be preachy.
Reply:please just take it to the vet I know $ is tight for u and i understand that. But your dog needs vet attention

I think my son pulled loose a permanent tooth!?

He was in bed and felt what he thought was a loose tooth and tried to pull it, then heard a crack! I think it may have been a permanent molar. He is 11...could it be a permanent tooth? It's the second to last tooth on the bottom (never lost it) doesn't that molar grow in without replacing a lost tooth? I'm panicked! Will call the dentist in the morning but was hoping to get some answers on here so I can sleep without worrying!

I think my son pulled loose a permanent tooth!?
The place that you described the tooth coming from makes me think that it was a permanent tooth. It sounds like a 6 year molar. If the tooth is much smaller than the back tooth, however, it may be a premolar and therefor it would have been a baby tooth. He wouldn't have lost a tooth where his 6 year molar came in. It's not one that you have as a baby tooth. Call first thing in the morning and you'll know for sure. Don't stress too much, and don't bother w/ the ER, he'll be fine.

Good luck!

Happy Holidays!
Reply:If he never lost it yet its a milk tooth. They ALL get replaced with adult teeth
Reply:I think if it "JUST" happened, I would call an ER. If you wait until morning, I'm not sure that a dentist can do anything after that long of the tooth being out. At least if you call an ER, you can get a good answer from a nurse there.
Reply:If he's only 11, I wouldn't worry about it. My bottom molars didn't grow in until I was 15... maybe I'm just wierd, but I'm pretty sure you don't have anything to worry about.
Reply:no, i lost all of my teeth... you lose your molars too. here this website says so too. its okay. :)
Reply:If you're looking at it from the top of the tooth, and it's longer than the one in front of it, then it's a baby tooth. That's typically the last baby tooth to go.

It may also be a slightly different color than the teeth on either side...
Reply:Highly unlikey that it is a permanent tooth. Boys develop slower than little girls, so his 12 year molar (1st permanent molar) probably wouldn't be showing up on the lower until he is about 13. Look at the tooth - is the biting surface really well defined with lots of ridges and grooves? It would be very obvious if it were his 12 year molar. The edges will be very pronounced and sharp. A decidous (baby) tooth will be more round with not many grooves on the biting surface. Try to calm down, call the dentist in the morning and all will be fine. Really.
Reply:It sounds like it was most likely a baby tooth. If he is 11 years old, his 12 year molars are not in yet. That means the last tooth is a 6 year molar (permanent tooth which does NOT replace a baby tooth) and the next-to-last tooth is the second baby molar (which gets replaced by the second premolar or bicuspid). If it was loose, this adds to my confidence that it was a baby tooth. There is a very specific and RARE condition known as localized juvenile periodontitis that is caused by a specific organism that your son most likely does NOT have. However, if I were playing the odds, and if everything that you typed is accurate, I would say it's most likely a baby tooth. The "crack" that he heard was most likely the sound of the baby tooth against the adult tooth underneath the gums. Take him to see the dentist to be sure, but go and get some sleep. It sounds like a baby tooth to me.
Reply:JUDE,

DON'T WORRY, WHEN I WAS ABOUT YOUR SON'S AGE I OFTEN PULLED OUT MY BABY TEETH WHEN THEY WERE LOOSE. BELIEVE ME IF THIS WERE TO BE A PERMANENT MOLAR THERE WOULD BE NO WAY FOR YOUR SON TO PULL IT W/O EXCRUCIATING PAIN AND THE HELP OF A FRIEND WITH SOME DENTAL FORCEPTS.

FEAR NOT!!!

IF YOU KNOW ABOUT 12 YEAR MOLARS, THAT'S TRUE, GIVE OR TAKE 6 MONTHS EITHER WAY. IT'S A BABY TOOTH.
Reply:It is the 2nd baby molar, just in front of the 1st adult molar.

there is no need for concern.

have someone smack you on the face!
Reply:what my always used to say "twist %26amp; pull!"

do it gradually so you dont put your self through a wholee lot a pain. twist a little, and pull lightly %26amp; repeat.
Reply:Are you young and still losing baby teeth? If so, just keep wiggling it and it'll soon be out. My granddaughter had a loose one this past summer and it fell out onto the dinner table! We were all so shocked - especially her.
Reply:go to the dentist

Will a loose tooth heal on its own?

Got punched in the mouth last night, my front tooth hurts and is a little bit loose, will it heal on its own?

Going to dentist on Thursday but just wanted some info.

Will a loose tooth heal on its own?
Gosh, such dire responses. The good news is that the tooth is still in your mouth! The tooth is cushioned in the bone by elastic fibers. These fibers or ligament stretch and are painful when there is any kind of blow to them. This is the same kind of pain that people have with braces, but unlike your blow, braces pressure is monitored.

It's good that you are going to the dentist. They will x-ray the tooth to make sure that the root isn't broken or that the tooth doesn't have an infection in the nerve. If it doesn't, then you may be OK in time. I have seen this happen many times and you may be one of the fortunate ones.

In the meantime, be careful not to have anything chewy on the tooth. You wouldn't want to injure the ligament any more than it has been and give it a chance to heal.
Reply:nope never. you'll have to get a fake
Reply:Depends on the kind of damage. Only your dentist could tell you
Reply:no, if its really loose, try to take it out by yourself.
Reply:i dont think so
Reply:no i doubt it will heal on its own
Reply:In some cases they will tighten back up. best go to Dentist tho. It might have a cracked root.
Reply:wait to see what the dentist says.

but ya may lose it..

don't play with it.

don't chew near it

avoid hard foods till then.
Reply:Nope, it's gotta go. I have an appt. Thursday too!

(loose tooth for 1 year...getting looser!lol)
Reply:I WOULD TRY TO GET A EARLIER DENTIST APPT. IF YOU CANT LEAVE IT ALONE. A DENTIST MIGHT BE ABLE TO FIX IT.
Reply:I got hit in the mouth with a softball. The tooth got pushed back. I pushed it back in place and went to the dentist. The bone was bruised and I was at risk of a root canal and maybe losing the tooth. But it is fine now. Don't push on it. Let it heal. Maybe put some ice on it.

The dentist will help you. They can x-ray it and tell you what to expect.

Good luck.
Reply:no it will not the most they can give you to save it is a root canal worth it go for it.
Reply:Depends on the situation but yes it is possible as far as I am aware. In some cases where the tooth comes right out, the tooth can still be put back in. As long as the supporting tissues of the tooth reform to provide adequate support to hold the tooth in place it is ok.
Reply:Nope. You probably have some bone damage. You will have to get a crown with a post.
Reply:no....you'll need a fake one...dont worry it wont hurt! i promise.
Reply:I don't think it will heal. If it's a baby tooth, then it will grow another tooth. But what some dentists can do is glue the tooth back into the gum, or they can insert a fake tooth. The dentist is sure to take care of everything.

My 6 yr old has lost 1 tooth-2nd tooth is loose but not out & new tooth is already through is this normal?

My 6 yr old daughter lost her 1st tooth (bottom) her 2nd tooth is loose (bottom as well) but not even close to coming out yet. Behind the loose tooth is her adult tooth already through is this normal or should I be concerned?

My 6 yr old has lost 1 tooth-2nd tooth is loose but not out %26amp; new tooth is already through is this normal?
If the 2nd tooth is not loose, it most likely needs to be taken out by your dentist

It probably needs help.

The permanent tooth usually lies directly under the baby tooth to resorb or eat away at the baby tooth's root, thereby making it loose. If the positioning is off, this resorption process will not occur, and the root will remain long - thus, the tooth will not loosen.

If the baby tooth remains, and the permanent tooth erupts behind it....it can cause malpostioning of the teeth....better to take that sucker out sooner then later....

Slight malpositioning is no big deal, since tongue pressure will naturally help in pushing the permanent tooth into the right position.
Reply:Absolutely normal, but you might want to take her for a dental checkup just to be sure the teeth are alingned properly and coming in straight.
Reply:Sounds fine and dandy to me.
Reply:My rule of thumb is that, if the permanent tooth is "half the distance" to the top edge of the baby tooth, the baby tooth has to be removed. Now, if it's literally hanging by a thread, it's no big deal, but if it's not extremely loose, you ought to have it taken out.

Cat with a loose tooth, any experience?

My older cat's eye tooth is loose. I saw that it was lower than it usually is so I touched it and it was loose. I'm taking her to he vet tomorrow but what can I expect? extraction? sedated or not? gum disease? anyone else have a similar experience?

Cat with a loose tooth, any experience?
My cat also had a loose tooth - one of his fangs. It had to be extracted becuase a loose tooth cannot be saved. Most likely, your vet will recommend a thorough cleaning for starters. He will also probe around your kitty's gums and check for periodontal disease (painful lesions under the gumline). The loose tooth will have to come out. The cleaning and extraction will have to be done under anesthesia. If your cat is over 7 years old, you need to get a blood test to check kidney and other vitals. Vet will also check for heart murmurs. If all is OK, then vet will set an appointment for the dental work. My cat had to have 4 extractions. With the cleaning, blood work, organ monitoring and anesthesia, antibiotics and pain med, the total was close to $600.00.

Good Luck!
Reply:Probably losing teeth from gum disease and old age. Follow the vet's advice. I have a cat who had trauma to 2 teeth and they had to be pulled to correct the situation but it didn't cost much and the cat was ok after about a week.
Reply:I had somewhat a same experience. I was grilling some BBQ and my cat(old cat) was begging for some and I remembered that they had no cat food and my maid was still buying some so i gave him a chunk of warm BBQ(came off the grill just 5 minutes earlier) then he ate it half of it. When I took the half chunk of BBQ to throw in the trash, I noticed a tooth stuck in the BBQ and I checked my cat for any signs that a tooth had come out and one did. Took him to the vet and all done. Nothing harmful. Happened twice so far.

Ok gums problem?my loose tooth.?

where my loose tooth is (i'm 12) ok so like my gum where the loose tooth is is like puff up and white I dunno y. Does anyone know y its like that cuz like it looks like when u get blisters on ur hand and the blister puff up and its all white its like that...and like theres some tiny i mean tinny parts wit blood and it doesn't hurt its just bothering me...

Ok gums problem?my loose tooth.?
The gum in the area of the loose tooth is probably irritated which is causing it to be puffy and maybe have some bleeding. It may also look white due to the pressure of the tooth below it pushing up, causing blanching. Blanching reduces some blood flow to the area and therefore it looks less pink than normal. Just keep wiggling it!

Hope that helps!

Reply:If its a baby tooth (though all your baby teeth should be out buy now) try and pull it out but if its not maybe you should go to the dentist and get him/her to check it out. If its really loose they might pull it out and give you a fake (but permanent and real-looking) tooth. Its nothing big.

Why do the spacers I got in my teeth yesterday make them feel so loose?

When I touch my top and bottom teeth together, my top teeth feel like they're going up and my bottom feel like they're going down.

Why do the spacers I got in my teeth yesterday make them feel so loose?
They are a little.... They are moving them to get the braces on. It's gonna be fun!

Just wait. you will be sore but it will pass and you'll get use to it

Reply:ouch I remember spacers. I used to have one on my bottom teeth forever. Don't eat tootsie rolls lol your teeth are just sensitive right now, try not to clench your teeth because it will make them hurt....but if it is still doing it in a few days you should make a follow up appointment if they didn't already make one for you. Its always better to ask too many questions rather than not enough...

good luck with your spacer...and remember what I said about the tootsie roll, that is valluable advice lol trust me

My little sister's loose tooth?

My little sister has been fiddling with this one loose tooth for 3 days now, and clearly is causing minor discomfort. Most of the roots have snapped, and the tooth is hanging by the roots on the frontal part of the tooth. She has been asking me to help her remove it, but I don't want to rip it out. Are there any methods of safe and easy extraction without using numbing supplies or making a trip to the dentist? Please do not suggest the "string and door-slamming" technique. It doesn't work, and causes a lot of pain. Thank you!

My little sister's loose tooth?
I say you punch her in the face. She'll be soo distracted by the pain on her face that she won't feel the tooth popping out. See, you can help her out by removing the tooth, at the same time you will be relieving some stress off of yourself. It's a win-win situation. However I suggest you do it when you catch her off guard, so she won't see it coming. Lol!
Reply:Just let her get it out, herself. Sooner or later, even if she never touches it, it'll come out.
Reply:I bet she willl like this... let her have ice cream and popsicles! IIts wird but my mom did it and it always worked...xx
Reply:when i had loose teeth my mom would either pull it out while i was talking(she did that once but the tooth was in the front) and then there's also just letting her leave it there and then let her slowly pull it if she wants to. I did that once when i was watching a movie, my tooth came out easily!
Reply:Try pushing it back to loosen the front part and then grab the front and back and pull it down. It might seem like it'll hurt, but it really doesn't. It hurts more if you just wiggle it a lot.

I have a loose molar tooth is it necessary to remove it or what harm am I getting into?

My dentist wants to pull a loose molar loose tooth and since it does not hurt me I am wondering and have told him is it really necessary to remove it and all he says is "it is loose". My question is is it necessary to do so?

I have a loose molar tooth is it necessary to remove it or what harm am I getting into?
Just from your question, my immediate answer is yes, but this also depends on several things. I am in the dental field and assuming that you are an adult, then yes it needs to come out. The loose tooth puts you at risk for infection. The reason for most adult loose teeth, aside from trauma, is bone loss. There may be little bone to hold the tooth in place, so it will not "tighten" back up and it serves you no purpose. Also, the bacteria associated with bone loss can spread to the other teeth, or can enter your bloodstream and affect your overall health. Those bacteria are linked to heart attack, stroke, and respiratory disease just to name a few. If there is no way to return the tooth to health, trust the dentist and have it taken out.
Reply:well, this guy sounds like he really knows what he is talking about:-)

i second him
Reply:if it loose u could lose it in the night and swallow it if it lose u should get it extracted before it does become painful or abcessed. if u dont trust that dentist try another and see if they say something different.

I am 31 years old and I have 3 bottom front teeth that are coming loose from the gums?

Is there anything a dentist can do about that

I am 31 years old and I have 3 bottom front teeth that are coming loose from the gums?
Mine have been that way for years, and ive had no problems whatsoever. The only thing you can do is try to strengthen yer gums.
Reply:Probably, but in the meantime you need to stay away from the chew lady.
Reply:yes there is plenty that a dentist can do for that you might want to go take care of that it could be peradontals disease where your teeth tend to come apart from the gum that is very serious.
Reply:Duh. Go see a dentist and see how it goes.
Reply:go to the dentist
Reply:They may want to take the teeth out and give you a partial
Reply:My brother (a little older than you) had a similar problem plus pain from cold and sweet and hot.

He used a sonic massager for 20 minutes a day for 4 months, and now his teeth are in there solid, he gained bone mass (checked with X-ray before and after!), no pains of any kind.

The massager $200. (and a bargain at that!)

No dentist bill.
Reply:Um, ya.. go to the dentist. You must not be taking good care of them. there is prolly no bone there.. my boss has to get his all taken out cuz they are like yours..... and get some fake ones.. but then again he chews...
Reply:Sounds like you have advanced periodontal disease. Consult a dentist soon as periodontitis does not reverse itself. If the teeth are loose, it means that you have bone loss. Your dentist is the only person who can stablize this condition.
Reply:that generally means periodontal disease and a lot of times they need pulled. you can generally wait a while. they might be able to do some deep scaling and save them.

i recommend an ionic (not sonic) toothbrush and neydent or apagard toothpaste.

Neydent

NeyDent ® prevents caries and pain when the teeth are extremely sensitive. NeyDent ® also improves the blood flow, which strengthens the gums and builds up resistance against colds and infections.

11 year old son's loose tooth?

My son has a loose tooth. Its the second to the last tooth. Is this a tooth that is suppose to be loose? My friend said its a 12 year old molar. I was just wondering, I dont remember those.

11 year old son's loose tooth?
Evanlah,

Please allow me to answer your question this way. Molars are a tooth that is not necessarily needed by people today.

But in my case, this particular tooth never fell out. I am 58 yrs old now and have upper and lower dentures in my mouth. An had the orthodontist to place two posts in the bottom of my mouth. Which later will accept a snap. This process is to help stabilize my bottom denture. An give me more help in eating. The Molar is still under the jaw bone, laying on it's side! The orthodontist said let it go unless it begins to start problems. When your son looses this molar it will grow another tooth which will be an adult tooth. So I do hope every thing works out for him and for you dear. Don't take things for granted. An it doesn't cost you much to at least consult your dentist about his problem. Bye for now honey . gunslinger701@yahoo.com Rick in Ct.
Reply:Consult a dentist. Son's too young to lose that tooth. There also may be something more serious that needs early attention.
Reply:You could have his dentist check it out. I would do that in the case that he has gum disease, which loosens teeth.
Reply:Count from the FRONT centreline of his mouth. This loose tooth is probably the 5th from the front, and is therefore a baby tooth. Adult molars are 6th and 7th from the front.
Reply:DON'T PULL YOUR SON'S TOOTH OUT BY YOURSELF!

GO TO THE DENTIST, PRONTO!

First loose tooth!!!How long before it falls out?

my son has had his first loose tooth for about a week

First loose tooth!!!How long before it falls out?
It depends, however you may want to intervene at some point and pull it out as it could take quite a while on its own
Reply:Could take months. My daughter is going on 8 and has lost a total of 6 teeth, but that first one took forever to come out. Someone told my daughter to twist it. Once she starting twisting it it really lossened up alot, eventually she just twisted it on out.
Reply:there is no time frame you just wiggle it till if falls out.or if it is attached to just one side you can get brave and pull it out.then you put it under your pillow.and the going rate for one good tooth is 5 dollars.congratulations
Reply:it will take less time if when he's watching tv (or during any downtime) he wiggles the tooth. the more wiggling, the faster it will come out. Just don't forget to be the tooth fairy. I forget sometimes, then the kid gets more $ because I feel bad.

Braces and loose tooth please help?
It never hurts to pick up the phone, call your ortho and ask......teeth are frequently loose while you're wearing braces....give it a few days and it should settle into place.
Reply:Call either your orthodontist or your dentist. They will have the answer. Even if you have to go back to your orthodontist, they won't mind. I have been to the orthodontist 2 times in one day and I live 20 minutes away from them.

My daughters tooth is loose what do i do?

well my daughter still has her tooth at the bottom of her mouth and it wont fall out i hate the site of blood when i was 10 i had a loose tooth at the bottom of my mouth and it hurt even though i am 27 im still scared of the dentist and so is my daughter what do i do she says it is really annoying her. when i was little my dad stuck his nails under my tooth and pulled it out but if i did that it would hurt her gum cause i have long nails what do i do

My daughters tooth is loose what do i do?
If it's REALLY loose then don't panic and don't pull it out. Find some candy like Fruit Rollups. Roll it into a ball and place it on the tooth that's loose. GENTLY push it down so it's stuck on the tooth. Leave it there for a bit and gently pull it off. Your tooth should be stuck in the candy and you won't feel pain at all. I did this before with my molar and I didn't feel a thing. Another way you can do it if you don't have candy is get a cup of cold water and smashed ice. Stir the smashed ice and cold water around and have your daughter drink it. It should come loose in her mouth. Good luck on getting it out!
Reply:It will come out when it is ready. Like I tell my first graders, give it time.
Reply:Make sure it is loose enough and pull it out. You don't have to use your nails if it is loose enough. Sometimes they fall out on their own if they are really loose, too.
Reply:i rekon tell ur girl to man up and take her to the denist, let it come out naturaly and tell her not to play with it and maybe give her some bonjella numbing jell for gum's
Reply:If it's really ready to come out you could tie a thread around it and pull it. It should come out on it's own any day. How about biting into an apple? (Your daughter, not you.)
Reply:Show her how to pull it out herself, if she really wants to. That's what my parents did when I was little. Otherwise, just tell her to be patient. Or eat some toffee or something!
Reply:I think you're more scared then she is.

Calm down first. Then, just wait till it falls out naturally. It will get looser and looser till it just falls out. The worst that will happen is she will swallow it but thats not that bad.
Reply:you can get a paper towel and dry the tooth off then just yank it out or plyers. If it is really loose try a laffy taffy or starburst any chewy candy and mold it around the tooth and pull it out.
Reply:have her eat a very firm apple. An apple a day! that's how I once lost a tooth once that just wouldn't fall out! Don't worry, unless it begins to re-attach and the new tooth grows behind or in front of it, you don't need to see a dentist over a loose tooth. :)

Don't use your finger nail!! Even "clean" hands harbor bacteria under the nail! I know its easy not to think about those things, but its true.
Reply:It will fall out when it is ready.
Reply:wrap it in dental floss with clean hands and use a bit of clean toilet paper give a quick jerk and the loose tooth will come out.into the toilet paper. I'll be praying for your success.

Loose tooth....?

My son has his first loose tooth (he is in KG) on the bottom and I have noticed that the other kids his age have lost them on the top. Is there something I should be concerned with because of this? Is this normal?

Loose tooth....?
I wouldn't be concerned at this time. not all children lose their teeth at the same time. Everyone is different. Good luck.
Reply:I wouldn't worry. When his body is ready it will happen. Has he ever been to the dentist for a check up? If you take him for his normal check ups you can mention it the next time you go but I wouldn't sweat it. I'm sure he'll be fine and I bet is really excited for his first visit from the tooth fairy!!

Loose tooth on dog?

my dog has a loose tooth thats bleeding and he wont eat. should i just leave leave it alone and wait till it falls out or should i get it pulled he's five months old. thank you

Loose tooth on dog?
I think the best thing you could possibly do is take him to the vet or just call them and ask for their help. You need an expert's help
Reply:I would say to just leave it alone for a day or two and see what progresses. If it starts to look infected or if he's not eating at all over the next day or two, give your vet a call and see what the best option is.
Reply:If you can gently tug it out that's fine, otherwise give him a rope chew toy or something that will encourage it to fall out on it's own.
Reply:Well if it is a puppy it's normal our an older dog does too my 13 year old german shepard. If you think it's bothering him go to a vet and get them to pull it out. hope it helps.
Reply:Where is it located?

It is more than likey (hopefully) a puppy tooth. If so, it will fall out on it's own. Check him mouth to make sure that it hasn't been knocked out by an injury of some sort and is broken at, or near, the root.

He should be ok! Make sure he has plenty of chew toys at this age, he really needs them now!
Reply:Take a damp wash cloth and freeze it. Let him play with it and hopefully the tooth will fall out.

Dr. Tracy

(this has worked for one of my personal dogs)
Reply:give him a chew toy and make sure he is drinking still. offer soft food. if it has not fallen out soon then consider the vets. if it is really wobbly it wont take long but if it is just a little loose then maybe something needs to be done.
Reply:Put the tooth between your thumb/finger %26amp; gently pull it out. If you have a really good grip on it, the pup will probably pull it out, himself; trying to get away from you. LOL

Loose tooth?

i think my tooth has been already pulled out like a few months ago then grew. then it got loose again but idk if it has been pulled b4. will it grow back again or permanently gone?

Loose tooth?
If you had a baby tooth removed, your adult tooth underneath it will grow in it's place. But if you had a permanent adult tooth extracted, then no, you will not grow another tooth. You only get 2 sets of teeth, baby teeth then adult teeth.

Loose Tooth problems please help!!!?

I need help with my loose tooth I got 2 roots already out I just need the other 2 roots to get out so I can just softly pull it I need to know how would I pull the other 2 roots?

Loose Tooth problems please help!!!?
the best thing would be to just pull it out..It hurts at first but youll get over it.......
Reply:Depends if it is an aduld tooth?

If it is you may need to see a dentist to properly remove the roots. It should not break unless there is decay. If not an infection can set in due to decay and your entire face can swell up!! You can also get physically ill from this infection!!

If it is a primary tooth, most likley the roots will resorb into the tissue or fall our on their own as the new tooth comes in.

Hope this helps!!

Loose tooth?

How do I pull out a really, really ,really, loose tooth.....but extreamly harmelesslylyly.....I think you would say.....seriously.....im only 11......please help.......no pain please!!!

Loose tooth?
when I was losing my baby teethe, Way back when I was your age and Noah was building that silly boat....if I felt a tooth loose, I'd play with it wiggling it, and wiggling it. With my tongue, with my fingers, If the tooth was in my lower jaw, I'd stick it out as far as I could and lower my upper jaw on top of it and pushed it out more and more. I was all the time popping teeth out of my mouth in the middle of a class in school.
Reply:to tell you the truth, if you pull it LITTLE BY LITTLE, it will come off EASILY. there will be LITTLE pain. i actually like the pain. but im 11 too. ^_^
Reply:If you don't want any pain, just wait for it to fall out.
Reply:When I was 11, I would back talk my father. He'd hit me in the mouth and the loose teeth would fall out. I stopped using this method when he knocked one of my permanent teeth out.
Reply:When I was 9, I had a really loose tooth, and my mom kept telling me to pull it out but I was scared. It got to the point where it was hanging on by a string and I was still afraid, then I was eating an orange, and when I bit into it, the tooth just came off, just like that, no pain, no blood. It happened again with one of my inner tooth (forgot what they're called, molar or something), while I was chewing on some Mint Candy, except this time it did bleed, but did not hurt. The candy was stuck to the tooth.

The point is, just leave it, it'll fall out somehow eventually. It could happen while you're sleeping (it happened to me recently), like you just wake up in the middle of the night, feeling the urge to push at it with your tongue, because it's itchy. You do it, and it falls out.

But your best bet is to wait unti it's hanging on by a thread then eat an orange or something.
Reply:ok please lisen to me i had a loose tooth last nite I twisted out just about painlessly last night Just try do get the side [closest to your lips ] to ge your fingernail underit now just put constant pressure on it and blam! That part will be dissconnected with alot of blood rinse your mouth out then slowly twist the surronding tooth thats should be dangling so slowly twist it in a circle an voila a new gap in your mouth Good Luck !
Reply:eat something cold first to numb the gum a little bit, then move it back and forth slowly, but make sure your fingers are clean!!!!then it will bleed a little,so eat ice cream afterwards to stop the bleeding.take some pain reliever aftewards, okay?

you'll feel it move,

but if its a cavity it probably hurts throughout the day and you feel sharp pain.

My advice go to the dentist and have them check it out,

if you do have a cavity which my guess you do,

dont worry about it, the novicane%26amp;%26amp;the filling itself will not hurt.

What to do with a loose tooth, when the permanent tooth is already showing behind it?

Our daughter just informed us that she has a loose tooth, and on further inspection, we noticed it was loose and the permanent tooth has already broken through behind the baby tooth. Is this normal? Do we need to get the baby tooth out of the way in a hurry...ie with a dentists help? Any advice would be appreciated. Thank you.

What to do with a loose tooth, when the permanent tooth is already showing behind it?
The first set of teeth are called the "milk teeth". The permanent teeth come in behind the milk teeth. This is called the mixed dentition stage. With pressure from the permanent tooth, the root of the milk tooth gets dissolved / eaten away, and the milk tooth then falls to make way for the permanent tooth.

If the permanent tooth is placed too far away, it will erupt even without the predecessor falling, as there is no obstruction, and then we see double teeth, a new tooth behind or by the side of the old one. Such a situation should not be allowed to remain for long, say more than a couple of weeks. Timely removal of the milk tooth in such a case will allow the permanent tooth to take its rightful place.
Reply:Pull the baby tooth. The permanent tooth may grow in crooked.
Reply:suck it up and pull that tooth out!!!
Reply:Yeah that is normal, but if it makes you feel better, see a dentist.
Reply:you have to extract the loose tooth so the new one could come out.
Reply:I've seen that happen alot with children, there is nothing to worry about. But as someone said, if it makes you feel better, see a dentist.
Reply:Go to the dentist and let him pull it out or you pull it out yourself.
Reply:The baby tooth is on its way out already. Once the baby tooth is gone the permanent tooth will move into its normal position. Don't rush to the dentist yet.
Reply:haha noooo of course this is normal. it always happens to me and my sister when we were little. when the baby tooth is loose, it'll eventually come off by itself, but i susgest it get rid of it. it's no big deal. happens to everyone. just pull it out or just yank it off. if you don't get rid of it, the new tooth is going to not b able to scoot up with the other teeth therefore your daughter might need braces to make her teeth stragiht. also, if you do not pull this toooth out, it might bother her when she's eating. good luck!
Reply:This happens with some teeth. The baby teeth usually fall out pretty quickly at this point. Give her an apple to chomp on and that might do the trick.
Reply:This is of course natural, and unless causing an issue, the baby tooth will fall out on its own- or consult a dentist- Don't pull the baby tooth unless it is just barely hanging on.
Reply:this also happened to my grandson, and like you i was worried.i assure you it is very normal, however ask her to really start working on that baby tooth.,it does need to come out.maybe just while she is watching t.v she can work on it.tell her that it does need to come out ,to work on it each day.that root on the baby tooth dies as the permanent tooth comes in so it shouldn't be to long before its loose enough to pull.
Reply:this is a normal thing if the tooth is already loose it will eventually fall out, the permanent tooth will go into place, I wouldn't go to the dentist right unless she is in pain....I had the same issue day of dentist appointment the tooth fell while he was in school.
Reply:Primary teeth have roots that normally dissolve from a chemical that is released from the permanent tooth. If the permanent tooth comes in slightly behind or in front of the baby tooth, those roots do not dissolve correctly causing the tooth to be loose but not easily removed. You should call her dentist and make an appointment to have her seen for an extraction of the baby tooth. The dentist will most likely numb the area for her comfort before removing the tooth. If the tooth is not removed in a timely manner, there is a possibility that the other tooth will continue erupting in the manner it is now until it is fully erupted - leaving the primary tooth still loose.
Reply:It's gotta be pulled baby. Once the erupting tooth breaks skin the infalamation process is lost. Then the teeth pushed around out of position.
Reply:its best to take the baby tooth out.Save yourself the money and pull it yourself but do it quick and easy this way the child won't have time to fuss,it will be all over.

My 6 year old son has two loose tooth?
If the teeth are so loose they wiggle alot, it's time for the to come out.

Baby teeth do not have roots, the hole that will be left will be very small and will heal quickly.

It may bleed a little but not for long.

In some cases the baby tooth is just pushed out by the adult tooth coming in.

As far as the pillow, I would just choose an amount you can afford. He will be losing more teeth so, you'll be doing this more often.

When I was a kid, I'd get a 50 cent piece for the smaller teeth and a silver dollar for molars.

Don't worry about causing him pain, as soon as the tooth is out, he'll say that wasn't as bad as I thought....bet cha!

Good Luck!
Reply:i've had a very loose tooth once, but when it came out, it didn't really hurt a lot because it was that loose already. if you think they are ready to pull them out, do it gently, not like, hmm...yanking it out by slamming a door or something like that haha.

hope this helps!
Reply:well if you think that it is ready to come out then try twisting it a little and it will make it looser. but if you don't think its ready then it should get looser. and put like a dollar or two for each under his pillow. :)

My tooth is loose!??!?

Heyy i have a loose tooth because i hit it while running in the woods. (cross counrty practice) I knocked it a little looose but not too loose. In the morning it feels as if it is more loose but when the day goes on, i gets better. (cyclic) I made a dentist appointment but what should i do in the mean time. will it come ot?

My tooth is loose!??!?
probably
Reply:Hey, yes, it might. So, stop wiggling it and wait to see the doctor. Oh, yeah and eat soft foods for awhile.
Reply:its a possibility that it will get removed at the dentist because it is still loose..than they may offer to do a bridge where they fill in the space with a fake tooth and it caps the tooth behind and in front of the space where your tooth was...
Reply:if u want it to come out tie ur tooth to a door and have some 1 slam the door.if u want to keep ur tooth try pushing it back up.
Reply:if you keep messing with it. If you are in pain take some Anbesol. It takes the pain away. Try not to eat on that side.

Loose,painful tooth!?

how do I pull out an extremely loose tooth, without the door and string option(or dentistry.). this is a baby tooth molar. it is almost completely out, but it is like one stinkin edge//root that is hanging on.

PLEASE HELP!

Loose,painful tooth!?
Just grab it with your thumb and middle (Or pointer; I personally think thumb/middle works best.) finger, brace yourself, and pull like crap. Or you can keep wiggling it till it loosens up enough that it won't hurt so much. Either way, a good strong tug will do the trick. Then plenty of tissues.
Reply:pull as hard as you can =the pain won't be as bad as you think it will be
Reply:just grab it with ur fingers and pull real quick. it might hurt but itll get it out. if u cant grab it with ur fingers maybe try grabing it with a pair of plier or even ask someone else to do it for u
Reply:Give it some time and it will probably fall out by itself. Don't use the door and string option. That could tear the gum and you'd be in pain. Just leave it be. Chances are, it will fall out while you're eating something. That's how a lot of mine came out. Oh, and don't forget to put it under your pillow for the tooth fairy. Good luck!

Loosing Teeth????

Is 11 too old to be loosing teeth? And how long should it take for the teeth to fall out?

Loosing Teeth????
i lost my last tooth when i was almost 12...so i dont think its too old..you could go see a dentist just to make sure everything is okay....they know more about teeth than i do.
Reply:You will lose teeth until all your primary ones are gone. There is no exact timetable for loss of baby teeth, although by 13 if they are all not gone they should be checked to see why.
Reply:im 14 and i still haven't lost all my teeth. im thinking of going to a new dentist to check out why they arent gone yet, my dentist isnt giving me any answers :(

Reply:Very normal.
Reply:of course it's normal.

Loose Tooth?

My 15 month old daughter tripped and hit her tooth. It's loose now. Will it get secure again on it's own or will it continue to get more loose?

Should I take her to a dentist?

Loose Tooth?
I would take her to one...just to be safe.
Reply:Its a baby tooth so don't loose any sleep over it but you should go to a dentist
Reply:yes, you should take to her to the dentist. Baby teeth are important! Not only does she need that tooth for some time yet, the primary teeth help to guide the permanent teeth in where they belong. Also, the tooth could be fractured and eventually cause a painful abscess. Your dentist may opt to watch and wait, but I would take her for a prefessional opinion anyway.
Reply:You should take her to a dentist to have an x-ray just to make sure. Teeth can become loose because they have tiny ligaments holding them in place. Baby teeth usually tighten back up.

usually it will come out soon. I have that kind of problem when i was your age, it hurts when your tounge touches it or when u eat but when you have it pulled, it really doesn't hurt coz it's loosen so there is no need of force pulling, so you better have it pulled by a dentist...promise it's worth it...you won't feel any pain because anesthetic....

Reply:Try to chew gum, it will help bring it out.

If you pull it, it will only hurt for a moment, so do it fast.

I had two teeth pulled and the stitches came loose and caused alot of bleeding.?

got it restitched yesterday and now i can feel a stitch thats come loose again.should i worry?

I had two teeth pulled and the stitches came loose and caused alot of bleeding.?
nope. if they gave you some extra guaze when you left the dentist office just dip it in a glass of warm salt water, squeeze out the excess water, fold it twice and stick it in the space. or you can use a cotton ball. it should form a clot within a few hours. avoid spitting b/c it will pull the clot and start bleeding again. and i know it's hard put try to keep your tounge and fingers away from the extraction area to avoid bacteria getting in there. you probably have a follow up appointment with your dentsit where he will remove the stitches, and check the area.
Reply:no, but thanks for the two points
Reply:i had 4 teeth pulled so i could get braces i would take some pain killer and put some of the gauss on
Reply:If you bleed put some pressure with a pice of gauze, you can rinse with salty or soapy water after 24 hour of the extration. If you can not control the bleeding see your doctor. Do not spit or smoke for 24-48 hours.

Loose tooth with braces help?
lose teeth is part of having braces, don't worry. i had them, and it did kinda freak me out but you'll get used to it.

peace
Reply:oh it won't change.
Reply:You're pretty early in your treatment so I'd say it wouldn't affect it much at all, especially if it was expected. Don't worry man it'll be fine.. avoid hard food until the 29th ;)

Loose Tooth?

I have a baby tooth that has been loose for forever, and the adult tooth is already growing in,

any ideas of quick ways to get it out?

Loose Tooth?
Let it fall out naturally! The adult tooth will push the baby one off! Don't try to pull it because it might tear the skin, %26amp; then causing your gums to bleed! It will hurt if you pull it!!
Reply:You could pull it yourself, I had the same thing and my dad pulled it for me. Or you could just let it fall out.
Reply:my dad usually pulls it out when it is really really loose

Loosing Teeth?

I have a really loose tooth! And tips for loosing it before tomorrow?

Loosing Teeth?
Wiggle it, chew an apple, munch on some crunchy cracker, wrestle with a sibling, put a straw over it and move it around, let your parent take it out. If it is really loose it should be pretty easy!

A loose half broken tooth?

On march i was in the school bus going to school and i was eating a chocolate bar then my loose tooth broke into half and the other half is in my mouth i told my parents but i haven't went to the densit yet.... what will happen when i go to the densit and do i HAVE to go or do i NEED to go? I am only 12 years old i broke it when i was 11 years old and last month was my b day, so... my tooth is very very very loose. Im too scared to go. My dad said that they will just pull it out but i said i can do it its loose. But then he said no you cant do it yourself.

A loose half broken tooth?
It's probably a 'baby' tooth... if you can't wiggle it out yourself, go to the dentist. An xray will be taken, which doesn't hurt, and then he'll know if you should keep trying or if he should take it out.

Either way, you'll be just fine!

Good Luck!
Reply:You need to go and let your Dentist pull the rest out for you. Don't worry, it won't be a big deal. You can try to pull it out yourself, but it might need a little help.
Reply:Just go see the dentist. it won't hurt any more than if you did it yourself.
Reply:dont worry! i'm 13 and have lost all of my baby teeth. that used to happen to me all the time. The other part of your tooth will just fall out normally and if it is giving you any pain, ask your denist to pull it. it doesn't hurt ive had 9 teeth pulled.
Reply:Your dentist can take the rest out for you.

Loose tooth, would it heal itself?

I recently got a punch in the mouth, and my front tooth is loose from the gum. It's not as loose as to fall off, but it moves and hurts very much when it does. Would it heal itself eventually?

Loose tooth, would it heal itself?
You need to go see your dentist and have an x-ray taken to make sure everything looks ok. After that it's best to let your dentist tell you what should be done about the mobility (they might leave it alone or they might splint it to another tooth--just like when you jam a finger or break a toe). It's possible that it could heal itself but you should be evaluated to make sure that nothing else happened to the tooth or surrounding structures. Best of luck!
Reply:Go see a dentist.
Reply:Go to the dentist he'll do something about it.
Reply:I would go to the dentist cause the root may die and then the tooth will.
Reply:go see a dentist can suggest anything greater than this.
Reply:see denitst first

i think, tooth replacement is necessary

Loose tooth?

I have this loose baby tooth and It's loose, It's just hanging off a "thread". I can't eat on it and worst of all, It's on the side that I normally chew on. How can I remove it in the least painful way? Please help, I can't eat and It's killing me!!!!!

Reply:The least painful way would be to wait until it falls off itself. However, I would just yank it off in one jerk to prevent future pain.
Reply:Just pull it out as fast as you can! Like a band-aid...the slower you do it, the more it will hurt!
Reply:Get a wash cloth, grab the tooth, count to 3 and pull hard when you say 2. Good Luck!
Reply:go to ur dentist
Reply:You have not told about your age and further that how come you are so sure that it is a baby tooth only. Anyway, trusting that it a milk tooth only which is hanging off like a thread is troubling you, the best thing would be to visit a qualified dentist. Second best, of course, is you crush a few ice cubes, rub that ice over the villain tooth which will make it somewhat numb. Now hold it with a clean hankie or clean cotton and with a sudden jerk pull it out. Immediately put some cotton at the place from where you have pulled out the milk tooth. And keep that cotton in place for about 15 minutes. Well, that is what I can prescribe after working in dentistry for more than two decades. But, I dont want to tell you what I have been doing with such teeth in my childhood.....just pulling it, throwing it over roof top and keeping on spitting till thebleeding stopped.( Quite nostalgic but not at all wise!!....so dont repeat my mistake, please...
Reply:go to a dentist and tell him/her to pull dat teeth

Yes you can, just call your orthodontist and ask for the next available appointment. You don't need to wait for your next "recrimination" to get a broken bracket fixed, they'll probably even rush you right in. Call tomorrow morning.
